00:00Good morning, welcome to your latest morning update from the Met Office.
00:04It's going to be a fairly dry day again for most of us, but it will be a little bit
00:08cloudier and cooler than yesterday. We're off to a fairly bright start for many areas of the UK
00:12though, best of the sunshine through this morning. However, it's still fairly cool across the far
00:17north of Scotland where they've got that persistent rain and that northerly wind.
00:20We could see some heavy rain push in to the far southeast later on today as well, perhaps
00:26across parts of Kent and Sussex and then towards Essex later on in the day. And some heavy showers
00:31will likely start to break out across parts of northern England, northwest England in particular,
00:36and western areas of Scotland where they could turn quite heavy and persistent for a time.
00:40But for most of us, it's going to be a dry day. There will be a bit more cloud around
00:45compared to yesterday, as I said, and as a result, it's going to feel a little bit cooler.
00:49Temperatures just around average across southern areas and a little below average where we've got
00:54that northerly wind and the risk of those heavier showers across the far north and actually across
00:58the southeast. If we do see some of that rain, it's going to turn fairly cool later on as well.
01:03Now, through this evening, showers will tend to fade away and it's going to be another clear and
01:07dry night. High pressure is building in from the south and west, so that will turn things much
01:12drier and clearer to clear skies for many of us. It will be a little bit of a fresher night tonight,
01:17but still many towns and cities around 11 or 12 degrees to start the day. A little bit cooler
01:22though further north where it is a little bit cooler compared to the south. Now, weather front
01:27approaches from the north and west as we head into tomorrow. That brings a risk of some cloudier skies
01:33to parts of Northern Ireland, northwestern Scotland, perhaps some drizzly rain here,
01:36but ahead of it should be another dry day. Actually, it's likely to be drier on Wednesday
01:42compared to today. There is a risk of some showers across the far southwest, but for most of us,
01:47it will feel brighter and also warmer. Temperatures climbing up towards the high teens. We could see
01:5322, 23 degrees across the far southeast and some central areas of England as well, perhaps
01:59close to the Welsh borders as well. We could see temperatures climbing into the low 20s,
02:02so certainly a more summery day on the cards to come on Wednesday. But that weather front
02:08will continue to make progress further inland into parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland,
02:13bringing a risk of some rain here as we head into Thursday. However, it's not going to make
02:17great progress as high pressure is still building in from the south and west to bring many of us
02:22some further fine weather to come on Thursday. Have a lovely day and I'll see you later.
