00:00Good afternoon. Let's hope the St. Swithin's Day folklore doesn't come true this year as
00:04it is a very wet afternoon for much of England and Wales. We've got low pressure out to the
00:10southwest of the UK. You can see it on the satellite picture here. It's going to be sweeping
00:14up these weather fronts from the south and west through the day, bringing with it some
00:18very heavy pulses of rain. So, the rain's already arrived for parts of the southwest
00:22south Wales as well and that will be pushing north and eastwards through the day as it
00:26pivots around that area of low pressure. So, there are weather warnings in force for
00:30Wales and some western areas of England and then into the east later on this afternoon
00:34and through much of the night. To the north of that though, it's actually quite a different
00:38story. After a pretty cool weekend, it's actually feeling much warmer across the far north and
00:43east of Scotland. Temperatures could climb to the low 20s for some parts of the central
00:48belt and the Borders region and there will be plenty of sunshine around here. But across
00:53the south, it's going to be staying wet through much of the evening with the heaviest rain
00:58becoming more focused across parts of Wales, across to Lincolnshire most likely. But further
01:02pulses of rain are still possible across southern areas of England and Wales into the early
01:08hours of Tuesday. Further north than that, quite a lot of cloud around. We've got fairly
01:11mild air upon us, so it's temperatures still holding up towards the mid-teens for many
01:15towns and cities. A little bit cooler than that rurally where the skies remain clear.
01:20But for most of us, it's going to be another cloudy start to the day on Tuesday. The rain
01:24will most likely sit across more northern areas of England, the north-east in particular
01:29seeing the rain lingering through much of the morning on Tuesday. And then across eastern
01:33areas of Scotland, there's a focus for some heavy showers. So, there's a weather warning
01:37here for Tuesday. Further west though, it is starting to turn a little bit more settled
01:42as we head into Tuesday evening and into Wednesday as well. So, there will be more in the way
01:46of sunshine for western areas. But with limited sunshine through much of the day, the temperatures
01:51are going to struggle just to the high teens, possibly the lower 20s, a little bit of a
01:55warmer day with a bit more brightness in the south. And then looking through Tuesday evening,
02:00as I said, it is turning a bit more settled. We've got a ridge of higher pressure building
02:03in just for a time Tuesday evening and into Wednesday. So, a clearer night to come Tuesday
02:08night and that will lead us into a pretty fine day quite widely across the UK on Wednesday.
02:14But for the time being, still some very heavy rain to come. So, make sure you keep up to
02:17date with all of your forecasts across our YouTube channel. See you soon. Bye bye.
