00:00Hello and a very good morning to you. A brighter and fresher start if you're in the south east
00:04today but it will be a fairly damp start across the far north west. And that's due to this
00:09area of low pressure and associated occluded front giving some fairly heavy and frequent
00:13showers through the morning. But as we head into the afternoon there's a ridge of high
00:17pressure extending across the south and we will see some drier conditions through the
00:21afternoon. But back to this morning. So this is the area of low pressure and associated
00:25occluded front so fairly persistent heavy rain for parts of north west Scotland through
00:30the morning. And then we're going to see fairly frequent showers feeding across northern Ireland,
00:35north west England, Wales and the south west. But as we head in towards the afternoon that
00:40ridge of high pressure is slowly acting to suppress those showers and it will be a drier
00:44and brighter day across the south. But with that we're going to see a slight fresher condition
00:49so we do have this brisk westerly wind and temperatures at best into the early twenties
00:53so a touchdown on what we've seen for the last couple of days and best into the high
00:58teens across the north of the UK as well. Heading through this evening any of these
01:04showers remaining will slowly start to die out but we will still see them continue to
01:08feed into western Scotland and in the far south west seeing that cloud thicken as we
01:13start to see this new frontal system bringing rain, drizzle and quite murky conditions to
01:17start the day on Thursday. And underneath the cloud and rain we're going to see a return
01:22some more humid muggy conditions but under the clearest skies further east is going to
01:27be a bit of a fresher start to the day. So there will be some early morning sunshine
01:31for parts of the south east and north east England and north east Scotland but we do
01:36have this area of rain and drizzle slowly moving north eastwards and there will be some
01:40heavier outbursts as well at times particularly for northern Wales and north west England.
01:46So there could be some isolated surface water flooding in these few spots. Temperatures
01:51will be a touch higher than today but only by a couple of degrees and with the cloud,
01:55the rain and that strong wind it's probably not going to be feeling too summer like. Best
02:01of the sunshine going to be across the far south east and also for parts of Shetland.
02:06So a grey and wet night to come through Thursday but Friday is looking much drier and brighter.
