Transcript
00:00Good morning, it's going to be another fairly cool day and there will be little in the way
00:04of sunshine around but it should stay dry for most of us. Now it's a fairly bright but
00:09quite cold start for many areas of the UK this morning. There will be quite a lot more
00:14cloud though bubbling up as we head towards lunchtime and a few showers will start to
00:17break out, particularly across coastal areas, across eastern areas. They will be fairly
00:22light but we could see a few snow flurries over the high ground in Scotland. Now across
00:27southern areas, cloud will start to thicken as we head into the afternoon and this band
00:30of showery rain will start to arrive from the south. Now this brings the risk of some
00:34quite heavy downpours into this evening across southern areas. With little in the way of
00:39sunshine and a fairly chilly start today, it's going to be another quite cool day. Temperatures
00:44are below average across the board, just highs of 10 or 11 degrees which should be closer
00:49to about 14 or 15 degrees for most areas by this time of the year. Throughout this evening
00:55the cloud should melt away and it will turn much clearer and drier through the night for
01:00many northern areas, so much of Northern Ireland, Northern England and Scotland will see another
01:04clear and dry night. Across the south though it will turn much cloudier as this band of
01:10showery rain continues to push northwards throughout this evening. It will bring quite
01:13a lot of cloud ahead of it for much of Wales and the Midlands and showery outbreaks of
01:17rain for many southern counties through the night. But it will turn a bit milder underneath
01:22this cloud and rain, so it's going to be a milder night across central and southern
01:25areas, but across the north another cold night. We could see another frost developing, lows
01:30as low as minus four or five degrees once again for parts of Scotland by Saturday morning.
01:36So a bright but colder start in the north, cloudier and wetter across southern areas.
01:42And it will stay fairly bright for northern areas through much of Saturday and I think
01:45most areas should stay dry, particularly across the north and west, but it will turn a bit
01:50cloudier throughout the day and still it's going to still feel fairly cool. But the winds
01:54are quite light, so if you are in the sheltered sunshine, it certainly won't feel too bad.
01:58In the Midlands though, this area of cloud will continue to persist through the day.
02:01Some showery outbreaks of rain. The rain's not going to be quite as persistent in these
02:05areas into the afternoon, but there will still be quite a lot of cloud around and it will
02:08feel fairly cool. Now in the south where we see some sunshine breaking out, we could see
02:13some heavier showers, but in that sunshine it's going to start to feel quite warm. Temperatures
02:18rising much closer to average. Highs of 14, possibly 15 degrees across the south by Saturday
02:23afternoon. Now through Saturday night we see a more persistent area of rain arrive from
02:29the south. That will affect eastern areas throughout Sunday. So some more persistent
02:33rain to come for these areas, but you can find plenty more details on your weekend forecast
02:37on YouTube. Bye bye.
