00:00Good afternoon. It's much chillier feeling day today and that will lead us
00:03into a colder night tonight for many areas as it does turn a bit drier
00:08through this evening. You can see that dry and brighter weather already
00:11spreading into Northern Ireland, Western areas of Wales, the southwest of England
00:14on the latest satellite picture here. However further east we've got an area
00:19of low pressure with this cloud wrapped around it and with that cloud we've also
00:23got some very persistent rain particularly for northern areas of
00:26England and parts of southern Scotland and it's across Scotland where we do
00:29have this rain warning in force for many areas so there'll likely be some
00:34disruption from the rain, some localised flooding. There's also some very brisk
00:37winds particularly across these Irish Sea coasts of Wales, northwest England as
00:42well so the wind warning in force for the next few hours but the winds will
00:45remain fairly brisk as well into this evening. That's bringing a much chillier
00:50feel so despite it being that much drier across Northern Ireland and these
00:53southwestern areas it's still going to stay on the cooler side of things.
00:57Through this evening this area of low pressure will push off into the North
01:01Sea and it will take with it much of the rain so it's going to be a much drier
01:04night tonight, clear skies for many areas but that's going to allow
01:08temperatures to fall away so it'll be a much colder night than of late
01:12particularly across these eastern areas of Scotland, northern England as well.
01:16There could be a rural frost by tomorrow morning but everywhere is going to be on
01:20the chilly side away from the very far southwest where cloud will have
01:25thickened by the morning. This band of rain is going to push eastwards
01:28throughout the day on Wednesday so it'll likely be a fairly wet morning across
01:32Northern Ireland as well as potentially parts of Cornwall, western coasts of
01:35Wales as well. That rain will push into parts of Scotland, northern England as
01:40well by lunchtime and it's across Scotland where it turns particularly
01:44heavy and persistent as a rain warning in force for the whole day on Wednesday
01:48particularly across these western areas, the high ground of the Highlands in
01:52particular could see rainfall totals building up and some localised flooding
01:55issues. We've got spring tides as well at the moment so there's a risk of some
01:59coastal flooding. Further south yes it does turn cloudier and there is a risk
02:03of some rain but the rain will be much lighter particularly across eastern
02:07areas and that cloud and rain is bringing with it significantly milder
02:11air so although it's much cloudier and wetter day it's going to be feeling a
02:14little bit warmer with temperatures much closer or even above average for the
02:18time of year. We stick with the milder air as we head through the rest of the
02:23week however the rain will continue to be persistent across western areas of
02:27Scotland through Wednesday evening but it's towards the south where we really
02:31start to see temperatures rise through the rest of the week so it's going to be
02:34a much milder night on Wednesday night and it by the daytime on Friday as well.
