00:00Good evening. A brief drier spell to come through this evening. There will be
00:04further wet weather on the way for Wednesday though. But we've got cold air
00:08in situ so it's going to be a fairly cold evening and night tonight. This air's
00:12moving in from the northwest with a ridge of higher pressure coming with it.
00:15This area of low pressure is pushing away to the east. That's brought that wet
00:19weather we've seen through many areas of Scotland and northern England. So still
00:22some cloud and rain for the next few hours but in general it's going to turn
00:25much drier and clearer and calmer especially compared to last night across
00:30the UK. That will make for a colder start on Wednesday morning though
00:34particularly across northeastern areas of Scotland, northeastern England as well.
00:38Could see a touch of frost by tomorrow morning but I think most areas are going
00:42to feel on the chilly side to start the day. There will be a good
00:46deal of sunshine particularly across eastern areas through the morning. The
00:49southeast seeing the longest live sunshine tomorrow morning but across the
00:52west it's really going to deteriorate through the day. Some very heavy and
00:55persistent rain will push through Northern Ireland into northwestern
00:58England, western areas of Scotland. That's where there is a rain warning in
01:02force. There could be 60 millimetres of rain falling through the day on
01:05Wednesday so there's likely to be some disruption to travel here. Further south
01:10across much of central England and Wales, the south coast too. It will be a much
01:14cloudier afternoon and there will be some rain from time to time but I think
01:17if you're away from coastal areas and the high ground rain
01:21will be fairly limited and it's actually going to be a significantly
01:25milder day tomorrow with this southerly wind bringing with it this
01:29mild air despite the rain and cloud and it should stay on the milder side of
01:33things through the rest of the week as well. However the rain will remain
01:36persistent across western areas through Wednesday evening and this band will
01:40slowly sink its way southwards throughout Wednesday night and by
01:44Wednesday morning it will likely be sat across the south coast. There is some
01:47uncertainty with exactly how this band of rain will move because it does
01:51develop some waves and wiggles on it but it does look like many southern
01:56areas could see a bit of a cloudy drizzly start to the day on a Thursday.
01:59As I said we've still got this very mild air with us so it's going to be an
02:03exceptionally mild night on Wednesday night. These are the minimum temperatures.
02:07These are if not above the average for the daytime averages for this time of
02:12year. So a very mild start and actually there's going to be more in the way of
02:16dry and bright weather on Thursday particularly across eastern coast, the
02:20east coast of Scotland as well as eastern areas of England as well seeing
02:24the best of any drier and brighter weather. A southerly wind though will
02:28bring some rain potentially to southern areas of Wales, the southwest of England
02:33as well later on in the day. But in any sunshine particularly across these
02:38eastern areas temperatures will climb to the higher teens. We could see 18 degrees
02:41across the north coast of Scotland for example. Now into Thursday evening and
02:47Friday this area of wet weather will likely push up into more northwestern
02:51areas with high pressure building in to the south to bring a more prolonged
02:55drier spell potentially. But you can find more details on that on our latest
02:58Deep Dive with Aidan on YouTube. Bye bye.
