00:00Good morning, welcome to your latest weather update for the Met Office. It's a bit of a
00:05cloudy and damp start for much of England and Wales this morning with some particularly
00:09heavy rain across eastern parts of England that could cause some travel disruption during
00:13the morning rush hour. That does eventually clear its way towards the southeast as we
00:17head towards the afternoon but quite closely followed behind by some heavy and blustery
00:21showers and these could merge into some longer spells of rain across parts of Scotland and
00:25perhaps even Northern Ireland as well. There will be some sunny spells between those showers
00:29for Northern Ireland and it's parts of Wales and southwestern parts of England that will
00:33see the best of the sunshine this afternoon but temperatures are still a little below
00:36average for the time of year, only 18, 19, perhaps an isolated 20 in the south and only
00:42in the low double figures further north and feeling particularly chilly in that northerly
00:46breeze. As we go through the rest of Monday evening there will still be some showers around
00:50particularly through the first part of the evening, those turning particularly heavy
00:54across northern parts of England but the showers will gradually ease overnight so generally
00:58turning drier as we head towards the early hours of Tuesday morning and with that dry
01:02weather it does bring some clearer spells as well and with those clear spells that means
01:06temperatures dropping down particularly in the south into the low single figures so we
01:10could see a touch of grass frost in some rural spots and even the towns and cities dropping
01:15down into the high single figures. So a bit of a chilly start for many of us on Tuesday
01:20but a dry and bright start particularly compared to Monday morning. Still some showers across
01:24parts of Scotland and along some eastern coasts and cloud generally bubbling up as
01:28we go towards Tuesday afternoon bringing some showers across eastern parts of England. The
01:32odd one or two of these turning heavy although perhaps not quite as heavy as on Monday. Again
01:37at Northern Ireland, parts of Wales, south western parts of England seeing the best of
01:41the sunshine but temperatures still disappointing for June, 17, 18 degrees in the south and
01:46those low double figures again further north. Further showers likely through the rest of
01:51Tuesday and particularly through Wednesday as well. So do make sure you subscribe to
01:54our YouTube channel so you never miss a weather update. Bye bye.
