00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. High pressure is sticking
00:05around as we head through the rest of the weekend situated across the UK, bringing us
00:09those more settled conditions than we've seen over the recent weeks. However, low pressure
00:13never remains too far away out towards the north and it's these frontal systems towards
00:17the north that will slowly sink their way southwards through the rest of the weekend
00:21and into the start of the new week, bringing some outbreaks of rain and some cloudier skies
00:25for many of us. Back to the rest of Saturday though and there is some cloudier skies
00:29out there at the moment, particularly across eastern parts of Scotland, with some rain
00:33arriving in the north overnight tonight and into the start of Sunday. Southern and eastern
00:37parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland and western parts of Scotland perhaps are holding on to
00:42some clearer skies and some drier conditions overnight. And with those light winds we are
00:46likely to see quite a chilly night ahead under those clear skies, perhaps some frost in places.
00:52Not quite as cold under all that cloud and rain though, with temperatures dropping down
00:56into the high single figures for many places. So for northern and eastern parts of Scotland
01:01it will be a bit of a cloudy and damp start to the day. The outbreaks of rain that we
01:05see through the morning slowly spread their way southwards through the rest of Sunday
01:09and into the afternoon. But for southern and eastern parts of England it will be a dry
01:12and bright start to the day, plenty of sunshine around and generally staying dry for much
01:16of the day, so a good day for those running the London Marathon. Northern Ireland and
01:20western parts of Scotland also holding on to some sunshine and feeling pleasant in that
01:24sunshine for many of us. We could see highs in the south of 14, 15, maybe 16 degrees but
01:29a slight northeasterly breeze across eastern areas perhaps taking the edge off those temperatures.
01:34Not quite as cold as well under all that cloud and rain, some North Sea coastal areas struggling
01:38to reach into the double figures. With all that sunshine around, UV levels will be quite
01:43high over the next couple of days so do take care if you are out and about, particularly
01:47for those running the London Marathon. Through the rest of Sunday we see that cloud and rain
01:52continuing to spread its way south and eastwards overnight and into the start of Monday. Southern
01:57parts of England and Wales holding on to some of those clearest skies for a time but eventually
02:01turning cloudier, particularly across parts of Wales and south-west England and those
02:04outbreaks of rain continuing to spread southwards overnight. Southeastern parts of England holding
02:09on to the clearest skies and it's under those clearest skies again we could see some patchy
02:13frost in places, temperatures dropping down into the low single figures here but again
02:17not quite as cold under all that cloud and rain. And parts of Scotland again holding
02:21up into the high single figures. That does mean that Monday is a bit of a cloudier start
02:26for many of us. Outbreaks of rain continue to spread their way southwards, not turning
02:30particularly heavy but it will be a very grey and damp day here. Southern and eastern parts
02:35of England holding on to that sunshine for a time but eventually turning cloudier into
02:39the afternoon and the breeze picking up a little, particularly further north. Not quite
02:44as warm again in the south under all that cloud and rain, struggling to reach much above
02:4711 or 12 degrees but for parts of Scotland perhaps feeling a little bit warmer, highs
02:52of 14, 15, maybe 16 degrees, so warmer than we saw here over the weekend. That rain eventually
02:58clears its way southwards through the rest of Monday but then there will be plenty of
03:01showers around through Tuesday and Wednesday. However, temperatures are slowly recovering
03:05closer to average. Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel though so you can find
03:09out more about that closer to the time. Bye bye.
