00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. It's been a cloudy and
00:05grey afternoon for many of us, but it doesn't look like much is changing over the next few
00:09days. Low pressure very much in charge through the rest of the weekend. There is a brief
00:14dry interlude as we head into Monday, but another area of low pressure waiting in the
00:18wings. With that southwesterly wind as well, we will be holding on to that milder air that
00:22we've seen over recent days.
00:25Back to the rest of Saturday evening, and a heavy rain pushes its way north and eastwards
00:30through Saturday evening and into the start of Sunday. Particularly heavy across southern
00:34parts of Scotland, but then later across parts of Wales and south-west England as that next
00:39band of rain pushes up from the south-west. Under all that cloud and rain, and some blustery
00:43winds too, it will be staying mild, with temperatures only dropping to around 10 or 11 degrees here.
00:49Across Northern Ireland and Scotland though, there will be some drier conditions and some
00:52clear spells, and that will allow temperatures to drop down into the low single figures.
00:57So a bit of a chillier start across Northern Ireland and Scotland, but a much brighter
01:01start. Plenty of sunshine as we head through the morning, definitely compared to parts
01:05of England and Wales as well. That rain will eventually clear its way eastwards through
01:09Sunday into the afternoon, with some sunny spells developing quite widely across much
01:14of England and Wales. However, there will be some showers bubbling up too, and these
01:17could be quite heavy in places. With all that sunshine, temperatures staying mild,
01:22staying well above average for the time of year, around 16 or 17 degrees across parts
01:27of England and Wales, and even for Scotland we could see 12 to 14 degrees.
01:32Through Sunday evening, those showers across much of England, Wales and Northern Ireland
01:36will gradually start to ease, so turning drier for most of us overnight, with some clear
01:40spells. Another band of rain does push its way eastwards through the early hours of Monday
01:44morning, so a damp start in places, but for many of us there will be some clear swells
01:49around, and that will allow temperatures to drop a little lower compared to Saturday night.
01:53Temperatures widely around 6, 7, 8 degrees, but perhaps dropping just a touch lower in
01:58some rural spots.
02:00So a damp start under that band of rain through the morning, but it does push its way eastwards
02:04relatively quickly through the morning, and does start to break up as it does so. This
02:08will leave plenty of sunshine through much of Monday, so plenty of sunshine on offer
02:12as we head into the afternoon. Away from Northern Ireland though, this is where we'll
02:16start to see some cloud building into the afternoon, and heavy rain pushing up from
02:20the southwest, so a damp end to Monday here.
02:23In all that sunshine though, it will be another mild day, highs again of 15, 16, perhaps even
02:2717 degrees, so feeling very spring-like and pleasant in that sunshine, but for Northern
02:32Ireland definitely starting to feel a little cooler, despite temperatures still in the
02:36double figures.
02:38Those unsettled conditions do continue as we head through much of next week, so make
02:42sure you're subscribed to our YouTube channel so you never miss a weather update.
02:45Bye bye!
