00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. So it was a bit of a
00:05drier and brighter start for many of us this morning, but that's not set to last. Low pressure
00:10very much on its way towards the UK through the rest of Sunday and Monday, pushing its
00:14way north and eastwards. A brief drier interlude to start the new working week, but again that
00:18really doesn't last long, with low pressure barrelling in from the west as we head through
00:22the rest of next week. Back to the here and now though, and plenty of cloud around for
00:27Northern Ireland, Wales and south-western parts of England. This band of rain pushes
00:32its way north and eastwards through the rest of this afternoon, turning particularly heavy
00:36across Northern Ireland and for the hills of Wales as well. Parts of Scotland and north-eastern
00:42parts of England perhaps holding on to a bit more sunshine, but with some blustery winds
00:46and all that cloud and rain, temperatures down compared to what we've seen on recent
00:50days, but still around 12 or 13 degrees across the south, so still above average here. Under
00:55those clearer skies in the far north, perhaps a little cooler, around 7 or 8 degrees here.
01:01Through the rest of Saturday evening, that band of rain pushes its way north and eastwards
01:05overnight and into the start of Sunday, turning particularly heavy over southern parts of
01:09Scotland and even some snow possible over the hills. Further south, there will be a
01:13brief drier interlude before another band of rain pushes up from the south-west, turning
01:18particularly heavy over Wales and central parts of England. Under that cloud and rain,
01:22it will be a very mild night, temperatures here only 10 or 11 degrees, but further north
01:27across parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland, there will be some clearer spells and that
01:30will allow temperatures to drop into the low single figures. So for Scotland and Northern
01:35Ireland, a bit of a drier and brighter start to the morning, plenty of sunshine as we head
01:39through the morning, and further south across England and Wales, that band of rain pushes
01:43its way eastwards through the morning, so some sunny spells developing for most of us
01:47as we head through the afternoon. Despite that sunshine though, we will see some showers
01:51bubbling up, these turning particularly heavy over central and northern parts of England
01:55and Northern Ireland as well, but temperatures still well above average for the time of year.
02:00Even milder than we're likely to see through Saturday, highs of 16 or 17 degrees across
02:04the south, and even for Scotland we could see 10 to 14 degrees. So through the rest
02:11of Sunday, those showers will gradually start to ease and it will be turning a little bit
02:14drier overnight, with some clear spells however, this band of rain pushes in from the west
02:19into the start of Monday morning, so perhaps a bit of a wet start in some places.
02:25Those unsettled conditions that we're seeing over the weekend do continue through much
02:28of next week, so keep up to date with our latest weather forecasts by subscribing to
02:32YouTube. Bye bye.
