00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. It's been a cloudy and
00:05damp end to the day today, all thanks to some weather fronts that are sinking their way
00:08south and eastwards through the rest of Sunday and into the start of Monday. That then leaves
00:13us with northerly winds across the UK, which will be bringing us below average temperatures
00:18through the first part of the week. Through the second half of the week though, low pressure
00:21is waiting in the wings out in the Atlantic, so bringing us further outbreaks of rain,
00:25but perhaps some slightly warmer temperatures as we go towards next weekend. Back to this
00:31evening though, and the rain that we've seen across Northern Ireland will continue to spread
00:34its way south and eastwards, affecting parts of Wales, central and northern parts of England
00:39overnight Sunday and into the start of Monday. Turning a little drier across parts of Northern
00:43Ireland and Scotland through the early hours of Monday morning, and under those clear spells,
00:47we're likely to see those temperatures dropping down into the low single figures, particularly
00:51in some rural spots where we could see a touch of grass frost. It will generally be
00:55staying a little bit milder though, further south and further east, particularly where
00:59that cloud and rain persists overnight. That does mean though, a cloudy and damp start
01:03for much of England and Wales on Monday morning. The heavy rain across eastern parts of England
01:07could cause some disruption during the morning rush hour, but it does eventually clear its
01:12way towards the southeast as we head towards the afternoon, but closely followed by some
01:16heavy and blustery showers. These could turn to some longer spells of rain across parts
01:20of Scotland too. Wales and southwestern parts of England likely to see the best of the sunshine
01:25on Monday, but temperatures still disappointing for the time of year, only reaching around
01:3018 or 19 degrees in the south and perhaps only into the low double figures further north.
01:36As we go through the rest of Monday, there will still be some showers around through
01:39the first part of the evening, perhaps even some heavy downpours across northern parts
01:42of England and Scotland, but those showers do gradually ease overnight and generally
01:46turning drier for most of us through the early hours of Tuesday morning, and with plenty
01:50of clear spells around, that does mean quite a chilly night to come, particularly in the
01:54south compared to Sunday night, where temperatures again in rural spots likely to drop into the
01:59low single figures. So again, we could see a touch of grass frost in places and even
02:03the towns and cities likely to drop into the high single figures. But that does mean a
02:08bit of a drier and brighter start for many of us on Tuesday. Plenty of sunshine as we
02:12head through the morning, still some showers across parts of Scotland and along eastern
02:16coasts of England as well, and the cloud bubbling up through the afternoon, bringing some further
02:20showers as we head through Tuesday afternoon, although perhaps not quite as heavy across
02:24eastern parts of England as we saw on Monday. Again, Wales and southwestern parts of England
02:29seeing the best of the sunshine, but those temperatures still below average for the time
02:33of year, only in the mid to high teens further south, and again struggling to reach much
02:36above the low double figures further north. Showers do continue through the rest of Tuesday
02:42and into the start of Wednesday, but do make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel
02:45so you never miss a weather update. Bye bye.
