00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. High pressure trying
00:04to remain in charge as we head through the rest of the weekend, but low pressure out
00:08towards the north brings some frontal systems sinking their way southwards as we go into
00:12the new working week. That does mean that the area of high pressure slowly pushes away
00:16towards the northwest, particularly through Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing us a northerly
00:20flow across the UK, so those temperatures dropping just a little below average. Low
00:24pressure never too far away though out in the Atlantic and that likely bringing some
00:28more unsettled weather as we head through the second half of the week. Back to this
00:32evening though and plenty of cloud and rain around for the northern half of the UK, particularly
00:36eastern parts of Scotland, northern England as that band of rain slowly pushes its way
00:40southwards overnight Sunday and into the start of Monday. Southern and eastern parts of England
00:45generally staying that little bit drier with plenty of clear skies around and that does
00:49mean quite a chilly night to come in the southeast, we could see some frost in places with temperatures
00:53quite widely dropping down into the low single figures here. Not quite as cold underneath
00:57all that cloud and rain and for northern parts of Scotland as well, temperatures generally
01:01holding up into the mid to high single figures. So it does mean though Monday starts a bit
01:06of a cloudier day across the board, particularly compared to what we saw over the weekend.
01:11That area of rain continues to push its way southwards through Monday morning and in towards
01:15the afternoon, not turning particularly heavy but definitely greyer and a bit more damp
01:19than we saw over the weekend. The southeast of England still holding on to a bit more
01:23hazy sunshine through the morning but it's northern parts of Scotland that will definitely
01:26see the best of the sunshine through the afternoon. And away from any northerly breeze,
01:30it will be feeling quite warm here too, highs of 14, 15, maybe 16 degrees, however for England
01:35and Wales not quite as warm, highs here of any 11 or 12 degrees. Through the rest of
01:41Monday evening, that area of cloud and rain continues to push its way southwards and starts
01:45to clear northern parts of Scotland and England, so turning drier here with plenty of clear
01:50skies overnight. Still remaining quite cloudy though for England and Wales, so quite a mild
01:54night here under that cloud and rain. However, further north under those clear skies, turning
01:58quite chilly once again with temperatures dropping down into the low single figures
02:02and we could even see some frost in places, but again not quite as cold underneath that
02:06cloud and rain. So a cloudy start for much of England on Tuesday, that area of rain eventually
02:11clears its way towards the southeast but it does take quite a while to do so. However,
02:16for Northern Ireland, Wales, parts of Northern England and Scotland, it will be a much brighter
02:19start to the morning. Plenty of sunshine as we head towards the afternoon, maybe one or
02:23two showers across North Sea coastal regions, but still remaining very cloudy across the
02:27very far southeast with outbreaks of rain at times. With that northerly breeze though,
02:31not quite as warm as we saw over the weekend, highs in the south of only 13 or 14 degrees
02:35and maybe 10, 11, 12 degrees across parts of Scotland at best. Through the rest of Tuesday,
02:42that area of rain eventually clears its way towards the southeast, but further showers
02:45on their way through Wednesday and Thursday and the hints of that area of low pressure
02:49arriving later in the week. But make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel so you
02:52find out more about that closer to the time. Bye-bye.
