00:00Hello, very good evening to you. If you're in central southern areas and hoping for something
00:05a little bit drier, I have a glimmer of good news for tomorrow, but for the time being
00:10quite a bit of rain around as we go through the evening and overnight. There's some persistent
00:14rain across eastern parts of Scotland and a low pressure centre driving a weather system
00:19from the southwest and that's going to bring rain to many places. But through the end of
00:24the day, through the evening and the start of the night across parts of Northern Ireland
00:27and Northern England, something drier for a time before the rain arrives here and it
00:32could turn quite persistent and quite heavy at times, particularly across Northern Ireland
00:35as we go through the early hours of Wednesday. Worth noting that across parts of Scotland
00:40we could see some hill snow initially over the highest ground, we're talking 900, 1000
00:45metres or so, but perhaps getting to slightly lower levels around 500 metres perhaps as
00:50we go through the night. Because of the cloudy wet weather for many of us though, temperatures
00:54not really dropping, many places holding up in the mid to high single figures though
00:58perhaps across the far north of Scotland where we might see some clear skies, we could see
01:02a touch of frost perhaps first thing on Wednesday morning. Otherwise Wednesday, yes a mild start
01:07but a pretty damp and cloudy one for many of us. However, as we go through the day,
01:12we are going to end up with a bit of a north-south split across northern parts staying pretty
01:17wet, some further rain which could be heavy, persistent, particularly through the morning
01:20across southern parts of Scotland could cause some localised issues, breaking up a little
01:25bit as we go into the afternoon but worth bearing in mind there could still be some
01:28heavier bursts around. Across the Northern Isles, the Outer Hebrides perhaps staying
01:33largely fine and also some decent fine weather developing across central and southern parts
01:37of England and Wales. Yes, there will be a few showers around but some decent dry weather
01:42to be had and also some bright or sunny spells. Worth noting though as well, there could be
01:46some more persistent heavier rain pushing into parts of Cornwall as we go through the
01:50afternoon. A real north-south split in our temperatures as well as we go through Wednesday
01:55in the south, particularly in any sunny spells, we're likely to see highs around 15 or 16
02:00Celsius so not feeling too bad. Colder though, particularly under the rain, here it's going
02:05to feel quite unpleasant at times and also a chilly feel even across far northern parts
02:09of Scotland where it may be largely dry but a biting wind will add to the chilly feel
02:15As we go through the end of the day on Wednesday, the rain across northern parts gradually shifts
02:20its way a little bit further northward so staying pretty cloudy and wet across much
02:24of Scotland and then further rain feeding its way across parts of England and Wales.
02:28It will be intermittent so outbreaks of rain but could still be some heavy bursts at times
02:33but there will be some clear spells developing here and there. That being said though, not
02:38expecting many places to turn particularly chilly, again generally staying in the mid
02:42to high single figures, in fact some places towards the south coast may remain in double
02:46digits but once more a touch of frost is possible over some sheltered glens of Scotland where
02:52we stick with any clear skies. More unsettled weather to come as we go through
02:56Thursday. Some heavy bursts of rain sweeping their way from west to east could cause some
03:01problems on the roads during the morning rush hour across some eastern parts and then the
03:05heaviest rain does clear away but there will be further outbreaks of showery rain here
03:09and there as we go through the day and then again a band of more persistent rain sweeping
03:14into the southwest as we go through the afternoon. A slight reversal in fortunes across parts
03:18of Scotland because far northern northwestern parts where it's looking largely dry on Wednesday
03:23it's actually going to be a bit damp on Thursday with outbreaks of rain likely here.
03:28Temperatures again once more quite mild, highs around 15-16 Celsius across southern parts
03:33starting to creep up a little bit further north across parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland
03:38we're likely to just about scrape into double figures. As we go through the end of the week
03:42there's more unsettled weather to come. Low pressure firmly in control still so as we
03:47go through Friday a frontal system marches its way across bringing some heavy persistent
03:51rain for a time and then a relatively deep air of low pressure somewhere towards the
03:55west of the UK is going to bring some wet and very windy weather as we go through Saturday.
04:00I think it's fair to say that the heaviest rain is likely to be across western parts
04:05and it's also towards the west northwest where we're perhaps going to see the strongest
04:08winds and they could be impactful. But as well as the unsettled weather this low pressure
04:13is going to drag in some warmer air so we're going to see our temperatures rising as we
04:17go through this week. In fact on Saturday there's a fairly good chance that we'll get
04:20to 20 Celsius for the first time this year. Obviously you can keep up to date with the
04:25forecast as we go through the next few days by subscribing to our YouTube channel where
