00:00Hello again. Watch out for some heavy thundery showers across many parts of the UK as we
00:05go through Wednesday and Thursday, and that comes after some heavy persistent rain many
00:09of us had today, in association with a system that is now pushing away towards the east.
00:15Some lingering rain still on Wednesday across parts of the northeast, but for many we end
00:19up in a showery regime with that low pressure out in the North Sea keeping some showers
00:24piling down from the north. Back to the here and now though, and like I said, some of that
00:28more persistent rain lingering across some northeastern parts as we go overnight. Otherwise
00:32though, it's a case of showers for many places, quite a bit of cloud, some clear spells, but
00:38not a huge amount, and so temperatures aren't going to drop a huge amount, generally staying
00:42in double figures. Towards the south, central, southern parts of England and Wales, perhaps
00:47some more clear skies developing here, and as a result there may be a few pockets of
00:52mist and fog first thing on Wednesday morning. Otherwise, as we go through Wednesday itself,
00:56still quite cloudy towards the far northeastern, a few outbreaks of rain, perhaps some har
01:00pushing in across eastern parts of Scotland, but otherwise it's a day of some sunny breaks,
01:06but plenty of showers. The heaviest, most frequent showers will be across central eastern
01:10Scotland, where we do have a warning because of the thunderstorms, bringing hail, frequent
01:15lightning, gusty winds, as well as some torrential downpours. Also some hefty showers across
01:20northeast England, and even elsewhere, some heavy thundery downpours are quite likely,
01:26so perhaps the greatest chance of avoiding them somewhere towards the southwest. And
01:30there will be some sunshine in between those showers, and in the sunshine it's not going
01:34to feel too bad. Temperatures around average for the time of year, generally in the mid
01:38to high teens, possibly low 20s towards the southeast, highs of around 20 or 21 Celsius.
01:45Now the showers are going to continue for a time as we go towards this evening, but
01:49gradually the daytime showers will generally ease out overnight. That being said, there's
01:53the chance of some more focused showers developing across northern parts through the early hours
01:58of Thursday morning, and then gradually pushing their way southwards. Again, there will be
02:02some clear skies, perhaps across central southern parts, more clear skies than as we go through
02:06Tuesday night, and so perhaps a greater chance of seeing some mist and fog patches developing
02:11first thing on Thursday morning. But once more, temperatures not dropping a huge amount,
02:15most areas staying in double figures. As we go through Thursday itself, then watch out
02:20for the focus of showery rain across northern England, gradually making its way southwards.
02:25And even elsewhere, there will be some showers developing. And once more, they could turn
02:28heavy, possibly even thundery. But we will start to see something a little bit drier
02:33pushing into western parts. So for many areas towards the west, starting to turn that little
02:38bit drier, but elsewhere, plenty of showers continuing as we go through into the afternoon.
02:44Temperatures down a degree or so compared to Wednesday, just about staying mid to high
02:50teens. I think 20 Celsius would probably be pushing it. Like I said then, there are signs
02:55of something a bit drier developing towards the west, and that's because high pressure
02:58is likely to build in as we go towards the weekend. So still a few showers around by
03:03the weekend. They're going to be very isolated, most of us avoiding these. On the whole, a
03:07largely fine picture developing for most of us. That being said, with the risk of thunderstorms
03:12through the next few days, make sure you are weather ready. Head to our website for some
03:16advice on how to be from both ourselves and our partners. I'll see you again soon. Bye bye.
