00:00Hello, very good day to you. It's a pretty wet picture for many of us this afternoon.
00:04If you're not getting caught by a thundery downpour, there will be plenty of heavy persistent
00:09rain around in association with a system that is gradually making its way northeastwards
00:14across the country. As a result, as we go into the afternoon, it will be this slice
00:18from Western Scotland down to East Anglia, where we're going to have that heavy persistent
00:23rain. In amongst this rain, there could be some thunderstorms mixed in, but even elsewhere,
00:27some thundery showers are likely to kick off, particularly across parts of Northern
00:31Ireland, Northern England and Southern Scotland. This is where we have the greatest chance
00:35of some impacts. It's not just the rain we need to watch out for. We're also talking
00:39frequent lightning, some large hail and also some gusty winds could cause some disruption,
00:44particularly on the road. So do take care through the evening rush hour. There won't
00:47be a huge amount of sunshine around, particularly across areas where you're under that wet weather,
00:53but some brighter breaks are possible. Nonetheless, temperatures a little bit below average for
00:57the time of year, mid to high teens at best and feeling pretty unpleasant where it stays
01:02so wet and especially in any gusty winds that you may catch. The rain does gradually make
01:07its way northeastwards as we go through this evening and overnight, clearing away of sorts.
01:12But there will still be some showery outbreaks as we go overnight, definitely not turning
01:16completely dry. Perhaps some clearer skies here and there. The greatest chance of some
01:20clear skies across central southern parts. And here we could see some mist and fog patches
01:25developing through the early hours of Wednesday morning. But for many, it isn't actually going
01:29to turn particularly chilly. Temperatures generally holding up in double figures. So
01:33fairly mild, but often quite cloudy start for many of us tomorrow morning. There will
01:38be some brightness around, like I said, towards the south, especially once any mist and fog
01:41patches do clear. But on the whole, a relatively cloudy story for most. Some bright or sunny
01:46spells in between the frequent showers that many of us are going to see developing. The
01:52heaviest, most frequent showers are going to be across eastern parts of Scotland, perhaps
01:55into northeast England. And again, some thunderstorms likely to cause some impacts once more. The
02:00hail, gusty winds, torrential downpours. They're the things that we need to be watching out
02:04for. Even elsewhere, some thunderstorms are possible, though the showers don't look as
02:08heavy or as frequent. And there should be some sunshine breaking through at times. With
02:13that sunshine, then it will feel a little bit more pleasant than today. If you do catch
02:18any of those sunny breaks, temperatures peaking around 20, 21 Celsius towards the southeast
02:22and generally mid to high teens elsewhere. As we look towards the end of the week and
02:27Thursday's going to be another showery day, could still be some thunderstorms for some
02:31of us, particularly towards the east. But then high pressure is building its way in
02:35from the west, and that's likely to turn things quite a bit dry as we head towards the weekend.
02:39And with that, it should feel a little bit warmer as well. If you want more information
02:43about that, then Annie will be here with our deep dive available on our YouTube channel
02:47later on this afternoon. Otherwise, I'll catch you again later. Bye bye.
