00:00Hello, very good morning to you. It's a bit of a chilly start for some of us but the chilly
00:04feels not going to last particularly long because there is some milder air waiting to
00:09come in. That's behind a low pressure system just to the southwest of the UK. It's this
00:13feature that's going to feed its way north-eastwards through today, bringing rain to many parts.
00:19For the time being though, many of us waking up to a largely dry start, scattering of showers
00:23across parts of Scotland, some sleet or snow over the highest ground here. Also watch out
00:27for a touch of frost and some icy patches first thing across north-eastern Scotland.
00:32But as we go through the morning, cloud and rain spilling up from the southwest spreading
00:36across much of England, Wales, even into Northern Ireland and perhaps the far south of Scotland
00:41too. If we look at 3 o'clock in a bit more detail and watch out for some showers for
00:46Orkney and Shetland, some blustery winds here. Elsewhere across much of Scotland, a scattering
00:50of showers still but some decent sunny weather to be had. No sunshine likely for many parts
00:55of the rest of the UK. Quite a cloudy picture and there will be outbreaks of rain which
01:00could be heavy at times but it is a relatively mild picture for many, particularly towards
01:04the southwest. As we go through the end of the day, we are going to stick with the largely
01:08cloudy theme across much of the UK. Further outbreaks of rain which could be quite heavy
01:12for some of us. But across central northern Scotland, largely clear skies here and under
01:17those clear skies, temperatures really are going to drop. Probably a little bit colder
01:21than last night. We could see temperatures falling as low as minus 5 or minus 6 Celsius.
01:26So a fairly widespread and harsh frost here. Again watch out for some icy patches. Meanwhile
01:31across the rest of the country, with the cloudy theme and that milder air and those outbreaks
01:36of rain, much more unsettled, it is going to be a milder start tomorrow morning. As
01:41we go through the day though, we are going to stick with the largely unsettled picture
01:44for many places. Outbreaks of rain, heavy at times. By the time that we head towards
01:48the afternoon, we sort of end up with two zones of wet weather. Some persistent outbreaks
01:53of rain across southern areas and then another zone of wet weather across parts of Northern
01:58Ireland into southern Scotland and the far north of England too. In between these two
02:02zones, perhaps something a little bit drier developing for a time. Largely cloudy, any
02:07sunshine will be pretty limited. The greatest chance of some sunshine tomorrow will again
02:11be across northern parts of Scotland, albeit still a few scattered showers across Orkney
02:16and Shetland. Still a bit of a north-south split in our temperatures in as much as across
02:21the far north. Even though this is where it's likely to be sunniest, temperatures will still
02:25be on the low side. Meanwhile elsewhere, the milder air will have fed its way in a little
02:30bit further northwards, so most places getting into double figures. Highs of around 13 or
02:3514 Celsius. As we look further on in the week, and Thursday at the moment does look like
02:40it's going to be a pretty wet day, could see some impacts because of the heavy rain we
02:44are expecting then. Otherwise, and like I said, there's a relatively mild theme to things,
02:48but do bear in mind that the nights could still be a little bit chilly. We may see some
02:51fog at times. And at the moment, Friday definitely does look like it's going to be the driest
02:56day of the week. We will be back later on and we'll have our deep dive available on
03:00our YouTube channel, so do make sure to check that out. Otherwise, I'll see you again soon.
03:04Bye bye.
