00:00Hello again. Very good evening to you. It has turned a bit soggy across many parts of
00:04England and Wales today, and the wet theme is going to continue through the next few
00:08days. We've had a weather system pushing its way in across the UK, and yes, this has brought
00:13some milder air in from the southwest, but the flip side is that it's also brought a
00:19fair amount of rain across England and Wales today, some heavy outbreaks already. We are
00:24going to stick with the largely cloudy, wet picture here as we go through this evening
00:29and overnight, with more rain also feeding into parts of Northern Ireland as we go through
00:33the early hours of Wednesday as well. However, across Scotland, we're going to stick with
00:37the largely dry and clear conditions as a result, with some chilly air here as well.
00:42We're likely to see temperatures dropping several degrees below freezing, so a fairly
00:46harsh frost across some parts of Scotland first thing on Wednesday morning. Elsewhere,
00:51a very different story with that milder air and a lot of cloud around. It's going to be
00:54a pretty mild start to the day, with some places seeing temperatures not dropping below
00:59double figures. Otherwise, and as we go through Valentine's Day, it is looking rather grey,
01:04gloomy and cloudy for many places. Outbreaks of rain which could be a little bit heavy
01:09at times, and also perhaps something a bit more persistent initially in the south, but
01:13also some persistent rain spreading across Northern Ireland, Northern England and into
01:17Scotland too. As this persistent rain hits that chillier air across Scotland, we could
01:22see some sleet or snow over the higher ground, but this is nothing unusual for the time of
01:27year. There may be some brighter breaks in between the two swathes of rain across some
01:31parts of Northern England, but I think the greatest chance of seeing some decent sunshine
01:36will be across the far north of Scotland. Albeit here, it is also going to be quite
01:40chilly still with that chillier air holding on. However, further south, many places seeing
01:44temperatures several degrees above average for the time of year, highs of around 14 or
01:4915 Celsius, but obviously in the cloud and the rain, it's going to feel a little bit
01:53unpleasant. More cloudy wet weather to come as we go through the end of Wednesday and
01:58overnight into Thursday. In fact, the cloud will spread across the whole of the UK, even
02:02towards northern parts of Scotland, and further outbreaks of rain and some of these will be
02:06pretty heavy too. Because of the cloud spreading to all parts and the milder air becoming more
02:12widespread too, it is again going to be a mild night. Temperatures across much of England
02:16and Wales similar to Tuesday night, but in the north across Scotland, where I'm expecting
02:21that frost first thing on Wednesday morning, it's going to be a much milder start to the
02:25day on Thursday morning. As we go through the day itself, then again, rather grey, rather
02:31cloudy and further rain to come. I think the heaviest, most persistent rain will be across
02:36northern and western parts generally, but there is the potential for a swathe of heavy
02:41persistent rain to push in from the south, affecting some central southern parts as we
02:45go into the afternoon. We may see some brightness developing in the southeast and perhaps some
02:49brighter breaks across northern Ireland, but I wouldn't take any breaks in the cloud, particularly
02:54literally at this lead time. Again, it is going to be a mild day. Temperatures may be
02:59even higher than on Wednesday, highs around 14, 15, possibly even 16 Celsius. As we go
03:05later on in the week and the weather system that's going to bring the heavy rain through
03:08Thursday clears away towards the east, and then we do see a weak ridge of high pressure
03:13building. So the weather is likely to quieten down for a time as we go into Friday. But
03:18that doesn't last particularly long, with more rain on the cards as we head towards
03:22Saturday. Now, Annie does have our deep dive available on our YouTube channel, which is
03:27worth a watch. So do check that out. Otherwise, I'll see you again soon. Bye bye.
