00:00Welcome along to your evening weather updates from the Met Office. Yes, for the
00:05wet weather to come, not just on Tuesday but for many of us through the rest of
00:09this week. Thanks to this, an area of low pressure just sitting to the west of the
00:14United Kingdom. Weather fronts have been tracking north as we've been through the
00:17day and that's been providing persistent rain over Scotland, Northern Ireland,
00:22snow over the hills in eastern Scotland that will continue well into the night.
00:25The rain for England and Wales is tending to ease off, just a few showers
00:29for Wales and the southwest but still one or two heavy ones here during the
00:34evening time but many areas will become drier through the night. Still pretty
00:38chilly, temperatures well down into single figures, not far of freezing in
00:41northern Scotland where we'll continue to see snow on the hills in the east and
00:45even some wintry showers over the northern and the western isles into
00:49Tuesday morning. Staying pretty dull and damp on the Moray Firth and down the
00:53east coast of Scotland but something a little drier for central and southern
00:56Scotland, some sunshine for northern England and eastern England through
01:00Tuesday morning. Rain though is expected to spread back north, a wetter day for
01:05southeast England, that rain spreading across the Midlands up towards
01:09Manchester, North Wales and across Northern Ireland. Now to the southwest
01:13something a bit brighter as well compared to Monday's weather, some sunny
01:17spells for South Wales and southwest England but still the risk of one or two
01:21showers. Temperature wise, well you can see by the colours on the map it's going
01:25to be a chilly day across Scotland. The cold air still in place here particularly
01:29where it's raining, temperatures only 5-6 degrees, feeling colder than that.
01:33Elsewhere we should just about make double digits, maybe 12 with a bit of
01:36brightness over eastern England but generally feeling colder than today over
01:40the Midlands and the southeast where there will be that cloud and those
01:45outbreaks of rain which continue into the evening, steadily tracking north over
01:49northeast England back into southern Scotland, a bit more snow likely on the
01:52hills as it bumps into that colder air. Then something a little drier and
01:56clearer but look at this, a whole batch of showers coming into Northern Ireland,
02:01Wales and southwest England to start Wednesday and they will spiral their way
02:07into most areas through the day. So we start pretty wet in northern Scotland,
02:10that rain slowly peters out and then we're left with bright spells and
02:14showers. A band of showers tracking north into Scotland, eastern England, further
02:19showers following on behind. It won't rain all day, there'll be some decent drier
02:23slots and a bit of brightness likely particularly north Wales, northwest
02:26England but generally be prepared for some hefty showers on Wednesday and
02:31indeed for the next few days. Temperatures again stumbling up to
02:34double digits, close to average for the time of year but generally feeling
02:38cooler with the breeze and the showers. Temperatures actually up a notch in
02:42Scotland, 8 or 9 Celsius likely here. You can see by the swirl and the way the
02:47showers are forming that's where the low pressure is situated just to the
02:50west of our island and well low pressure systems continue to mill around here
02:56through the rest of the week and yes in the run-up to the Easter weekend, Good
03:01Friday still dominated by low pressure systems, more showers to come into the
03:05Easter weekend perhaps just turning a little drier as we go through the long
03:09weekend. For more details on that you can check our full week ahead forecast
