00:00Good morning. You'll probably notice a colder feel out there today.
00:04We've got a cold front drifting southwards. It's already introduced the
00:08chillier air and it's also bringing cloud and outbreaks of rain over parts
00:12of the Midlands, South Wales, southwest England, trickling into East Anglia and
00:15the southeast. So a damp morning here, very different feel compared to
00:19yesterday. That rain will take most of the day before it clears from the
00:23southeast as well, lingering in Kent in particular. But elsewhere it does
00:26brighten up some sunshine but lots of showers for Scotland, Northern Ireland,
00:30northwest England, north and west Wales. The showers will drift in on a pretty
00:34brisk wind, especially windy over northern Scotland. Very gusty here
00:38meaning those showers will zip through. They'll be pretty heavy though and over
00:42the mountains in Scotland we will see some snow because we've got that colder
00:45air in place making it feel chillier for all of us. It has been a pretty mild
00:51week in the south with temperatures widely in the mid, even high teens at
00:55times. Today we're looking at 11 or 12 in the south at best. Further north
00:59only 7 to 9 and certainly feeling a lot colder than that with the strength of
01:03the wind over northern Scotland. That gusty wind will continue to throw loads
01:08of showers into western Scotland and Northern Ireland through the night.
01:11Elsewhere the rain finally clears from Kent by late afternoon and then much of
01:15the Midlands, eastern England will have a clear night. Lengthy clear spells will
01:19allow the temperatures to fall away as well. We've got the colder air in place.
01:23Enough of a wind to stop too much in the way of frost but certainly for most a
01:28colder start to the weekend again than we've been used to through this week.
01:32Just single figures three or four degrees in most towns and cities lower
01:36in some rural spots. So yes a chilly start to what will be a cool weekend.
01:40Should start off with some sunshine over the Midlands, eastern England in
01:44particular but that won't last. The clouds will bubble up and it really is a
01:48case of dodging the downpours tomorrow. Heavy showers across the country. More
01:53snow to come over the mountains of Scotland even northern England over the
01:56Pennines there will be some snow and at low levels it'll be rain but wouldn't be
02:01surprised if you don't catch a hail storm at some point. Rumbles of thunder,
02:06flashes of lightning all so possible as the showers come and go through the day.
02:11Won't rain all day. It'll be one of those days where one minute it's fine the next
02:14minute you've got a downpour. Ten minutes later the Sun is out once more.
02:18That brisk wind will bring a chill however temperatures only in single
02:22figures for the majority and again feeling colder because of the strength
02:26of the wind. Does look as if the weather will calm down a little bit for Sunday
02:30something a bit brighter for most of us and certainly a lot drier. For full
02:34details of the weekend you can catch our full weekend forecast available on
