00:00Hello, brightening up in a few places this afternoon, but there is more rain to come
00:05and for some could get very gusty on Thursday as well. This is the view from space and there's
00:11a whole chain of cloud and rain bearing cloud at that's just pumping its way up towards
00:18the UK. We've seen a very, very soggy start to Wednesday, heavy burst of rain, particularly
00:24in the West, but now becoming widespread across all areas. It is starting to clear from Northern
00:28Ireland. Brighter skies here through this afternoon, also cheering up in Scotland, Wales
00:33and South West England and even further East. The rain should start to ease before sunset,
00:38staying pretty blustery, though, particularly across parts of Eastern England. It has been
00:43very mild and today temperatures again getting into the teens for a time, but it is going
00:47to turn a little colder over the next couple of days. As we go through this evening, for
00:52many it will be dry. There will still be a lot of spray and surface water on the roads
00:56and then look at this, more showers come packing into Scotland. This rather nasty looking
01:01line of quite heavy rain coming into parts of England and Wales by the end of the night
01:06as well. So further heavy rain falling onto saturated ground that could cause some problems.
01:11It'll be quite a mild night across the south, but it will start to turn a little colder
01:16further north, temperatures well down into single figures here. On to Thursday, it is
01:21a bit of a mishmash, but there will be some heavy rain around. Bands of rain moving across
01:25England and Wales in particular. Some uncertainty about the exact timing, but we could see some
01:30pretty intense bursts of rain and again falling onto very soggy ground. Something a bit brighter
01:36further north. Parts of northern England's largely staying dry through the afternoon
01:41with sunny spells. Same goes for eastern Scotland. Lots of showers in western Scotland and for
01:45northern Ireland. Quite breezy here as well. But some of the strongest winds are likely
01:50across the south as this area of rain moves in through the course of the day. We have
01:55both a wind and a rain warning in place as the pulses of rain move through. Three to
02:01six hours of rain, 20, 30, maybe 40 millimetres of rain. Not a huge amount, but because it
02:07has been so wet, these rainfall totals are likely to cause some further issues, some
02:12further flooding, some further travel disruption. And then also we have a yellow wind warning
02:17across the southeast. Gusty conditions here, particularly on the coast. It really does
02:22depend exactly on the development of that system, but those winds could cause some problems
02:26as they really whip up for a time through the afternoon. Temperatures will be dropping
02:30down values come the afternoon. Just close to average for the time of year. Nothing too
02:35remarkable about these temperatures, but you'll probably notice that difference just because
02:39it has been so very mild indeed. Please do keep up to date with the Met Office weather
02:45warnings. Best way to do that, of course, is through the app or our websites. And if
