00:00Good morning. Another day with lots going on in the atmosphere.
00:05There was some big thunderstorms around during Monday and a few sharp showers again today.
00:10The bigger picture is pretty messy with an old area of low pressure drifting to north.
00:15There is high pressure nearby, but it's staying way out in the Atlantic.
00:19We are going to see cooler air arriving, however.
00:22We've had our air drawing up from the south, which is why it's been quite warm and humid in places.
00:27But cooler and fresher air is coming in behind this weather front,
00:31so it is going to be a little bit cooler for all of us by the time we get to tomorrow morning.
00:36This weather front is also bringing cloud and some outbreaks of rain
00:40into western Scotland and Northern Ireland this morning.
00:43For England and Wales, we're still in the warm and humid air,
00:46still quite misty and murky and still a few heavy showers around this morning.
00:50They'll tend to ease for a time, but then, with the help of a bit of sunshine,
00:54we could easily spark a few more sharp showers
00:57and potentially even thunderstorms over East Anglia and the south-east of England,
01:01especially through the early part of the afternoon.
01:04Much of northern England, Wales, south-west England, though, turning drier, turning brighter.
01:08A fine day, by and large, and a much drier day across eastern Scotland compared to yesterday.
01:13But western Scotland staying pretty dull and damp.
01:15Something a bit brighter may crop up in Northern Ireland this afternoon.
01:19Could see some afternoon sunny spells.
01:21But the winds coming in from the north-west bringing that fresher air.
01:24So temperatures not as high as they have been.
01:27We could still squeak into the low 20s across East Anglia and the south-east with the help of a bit of sunshine.
01:32But generally, the fresher, less humid air is moving in.
01:36So I'm feeling quite pleasant in the sunshine over parts of the Midlands and northern England.
01:40We should finally lose the last vestiges of that warm and humid air
01:44across East Anglia and the south-east this evening.
01:47So we'll say goodbye to the thundery showers as well.
01:50Still a few showers here and there overnight, particularly for Northern Ireland.
01:53But many places will become dry and it will be a cooler night,
01:58certainly over the Midlands and eastern England, a much fresher night than the night just gone.
02:03Across Scotland and Northern Ireland, we may actually not be far off freezing in some rural locations.
02:09So a cool start here, but there will be some sunshine, particularly for southern Scotland tomorrow morning.
02:14Again elsewhere, it's a bit of a mishmash.
02:16There'll be some bands of clouds, some showers here and there.
02:19And then we'll see more showers bubbling up as we go through the day,
02:22particularly for Northern Ireland, Wales and central and eastern England.
02:26Probably not too many for northern England.
02:27Southern Scotland, decent chance here of a largely dry day on Wednesday
02:32and some spots of sunshine across the far northwest.
02:35Temperatures close to average and certainly feeling less humid compared to recent days
02:41over the central and eastern parts.
02:42We might still squeak into the 20s with the help of a little bit of sunshine.
02:47After Wednesday, there's still a bit of uncertainty about the longer range forecast.
02:51Aidan has much more on that in our full week ahead forecast.
