00:00Good morning, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. So, it's a bit
00:04of a cloudier start for many of us this morning, particularly compared to over the weekend.
00:09All thanks to low pressure out towards the north bringing these frontal systems slowly
00:12sinking their way southwards as we go through the rest of today. That does mean that the
00:16area of high pressure that we've seen over the weekend slowly pushes away towards the
00:20northwest and that does bring a northerly wind across the UK, so turning a little chillier
00:24over the next couple of days. Back to what we've got out there at the moment though and
00:28as I mentioned, quite a cloudy start to the day, particularly for eastern parts of Scotland,
00:31northern England, as this area of rain continues to push its way southwards through the rest
00:35of this morning and into the afternoon. Not turning particularly heavy, but it does move
00:40quite slowly, however, southeastern parts of England perhaps holding on to some hazy
00:43sunshine this afternoon. However, it's northern parts of Scotland that will definitely see
00:47the best of the sunshine and away from that northerly breeze, it will be feeling warm
00:50in that sunshine too. We could see highs here of 14, 15, perhaps even 16 degrees, but not
00:55quite as warm under that cloud and rain for much of England and Wales. Through the rest
01:00of Monday evening, that cloud and rain does slowly push its way towards the south, so
01:04turning drier from northern areas to parts of Scotland, turning much drier overnight
01:08and into northern England as well. Under those clear skies, we will start to see those temperatures
01:12falling away quite nicely overnight, perhaps even into the low single figures. So we could
01:16see some frost across parts of Scotland and maybe even into northern England as well,
01:20however, not quite as cold under that cloud and rain further south, however, still dropping
01:25down into the mid-single figures. So under that cloud and rain, that does mean quite
01:29a cloudy start for much of England on Tuesday. The rain does slowly push its way towards
01:34the south-east, not really clearing too far south-east, however, for Wales, Northern Ireland,
01:39northern parts of England and Scotland, it will be a much brighter and drier start to
01:42the day. Plenty of sunshine around, maybe one or two showers along North Sea coastal
01:46regions, but still remaining quite cloudy across the very far south-east. With that
01:50northerly wind though, those temperatures dropping a little below average. In the north,
01:53only 11 or 12 degrees, and even in the south, only 13 or 14 degrees, and definitely feeling
01:58cooler in the very far south-east under that cloud and rain. Through the rest of Tuesday,
02:04that rain does eventually clear away towards the south-east, but there will be plenty of
02:07showers on the way through Wednesday and Thursday. So make sure you subscribe to our YouTube
02:11channel so you find out more about that closer to the time. Bye bye.
