00:00Hello there welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. Remaining
00:04very cold through the next few days with further snow showers. That warnings
00:08extend through until Thursday with some severe frost. The source of the air is
00:12coming in from the Arctic. You can see it's streaming down across the UK. Many areas
00:18though seeing dry weather through the next few days. It's really the northern
00:21half of the UK seeing those snow showers and the winds will pick up on Friday
00:26with some showery bursts coming in across Scotland. And then into the
00:30weekend we do see a change in our weather. The air is turning less cold and
00:34we'll see some wet and windy conditions. For the time being here's your warning
00:37zone through Wednesday. An additional 20 centimetres of snow likely across the
00:42north as well as the west associated with snow showers pushing down across
00:46Northern Ireland. The risk of ice, the legacy of snow which we're seeing
00:49through Tuesday evening and overnight and further snow showers moving in on
00:53that breeze coming in across the North Channel down towards the northwest of
00:57England as well as northern parts of Wales. Now through Tuesday evening this
01:00feature here is an area of snow and rain and snow towards the coast. It's pushing
01:05and clearing across central and southern parts of Scotland moving in across
01:08northern counties of England and a mix of rain and snow along the coastline of
01:12northern parts of Wales but inland yes you'll see some snow there. A dusting
01:16further south as it weakens but certainly two to five centimetres likely
01:20across Scotland as well as northern England through Tuesday night and into
01:24Wednesday morning. It's a widespread frost as well temperatures well below
01:28freezing and across the snowfields of Scotland we'll see values down to around
01:32minus 10 to minus 12 degrees Celsius. So a bitterly cold day watch out for ice as
01:37well and the risk of ice as we head through Wednesday. You can see here snow
01:40showers will cluster together through the day pushing in particularly across
01:44Caithness, Sutherland, Aberdeenshire, the western side of Scotland some moving in
01:49across Northern Ireland and a few just running down the Irish Sea so one or two
01:53just could clip the western side of Wales. More clouds across the far south
01:58of England this is a weather system here which could just skirt the south coast
02:02bringing with it a little bit of rain perhaps even some snow flurries as it
02:06engages with the colder air. Most places though seeing dry weather with some
02:10sunshine where you see the snow though temperatures are going to struggle to
02:14get above freezing. Through Wednesday evening and overnight it's pretty much a
02:18repeat performance you can see clear skies across many areas a severe frost
02:22yet again further snow showers moving in across Northern Ireland again some
02:26moving across towards Wales some clipping the eastern side of Scotland as
02:30well skirting northeast England perhaps just that tip of Norfolk. Inland though
02:36it's clear and also very cold temperatures similar to the last few
02:41nights minus 5 minus 6 Celsius much lower than that where you've seen the
02:45snow. So that's the picture on Thursday morning through Thursday daytime we
02:50watch as further snow showers move in penetrating inland as well across
02:54Scotland again clipping the east coast as well as the west coast inland it's
02:58sunny spells and that frost slowly lifting through the day across more
03:02southern areas remaining in the ground further north here temperatures 1 to
03:06minus 1. So Thursday afternoon is pretty similar on Friday we'll see more showers
03:12moving across Scotland a mix of rain and snow all change into the weekend though
03:17it turns wet and windy I'll see you later
