00:00Weather fit for a king this weekend looking fairly drab in the London area
00:05on Saturday but before we get there some pretty heavy showers around during
00:09Friday they're fading away and we'll see clearer skies developing many places
00:14becoming dry as we start the weekend. Notice however down to the southwest
00:18there is more cloud and rain starting to push in. As skies clear we may see
00:23temperatures dipping down to five or six Celsius in the highlands of Scotland but
00:27mostly high single figures across the north and double digits in the south so
00:31not a particularly chilly start to the weekend. It will though be a very damp
00:35start to the weekend in the southwest and this rain doesn't stop here it will
00:40trickle into South Wales parts of the Midlands and yes on and off in the
00:44London area from mid-morning onwards not particularly heavy but a fairly dank day
00:49I suspect. The rain will creep towards northern England but much of the day
00:52here and Northern Ireland and Scotland will be dry and bright spells but also
00:58do watch out for some heavy showers breaking out through the afternoon
01:01they'll be hit and miss as I said they could be pretty heavy and by the end of
01:05the afternoon that rain will be trickling into parts of Yorkshire and
01:08Lancashire. Further south it may actually cheer up a little bit through the
01:11afternoon particularly so in the southwest but here it's still the
01:15likelihood of some showers. It will be reasonably warm if it does brighten up
01:20but compared to Friday it'll probably feel quite a bit cooler particularly
01:23stuck under that rain through central parts western parts of Scotland probably
01:27seeing the highest temperatures 18 possibly 19 still got this breeze
01:31bringing a lot of cloud to the coast of North East Scotland and the Northern
01:35Isles so temperatures really suppressed here maybe staying in single figures
01:38throughout. Now the rain will trickle its way across northern England during the
01:42evening time and slowly show signs of fizzling out as we head into Sunday and
01:47again many other places will become dry overnight and Sunday overall promises
01:53drier and brighter weather for many but we'll still have some cloud and rain
01:57just grazing the coast of Aberdeenshire and the Northern Isles and we will still
02:01see some showers breaking out during the day particularly across these eastern
02:04parts of England where they could again be on the heavy side. Further west it
02:08looks much drier and much brighter on Sunday and generally feeling quite a bit
02:12warmer as well with temperatures more widely in the mid to high teens quite an
02:17improvement across the Midlands there 20 degrees is possible and so these
02:21western coasts favour for some decent spells of sunshine during the day
02:25whereas the east coast likely to stay pretty drab. That wet weather around on
02:30Sunday from this old weather system will continue to ebb away during Sunday
02:34evening but then this next set of weather fronts comes in and that's going
02:38to change things up for Monday once more the isobars squeezing together so the
02:42breeze picking up not especially windy but these weather fronts will bring
02:45cloud and further outbreaks of rain swinging in from the west for Bank
02:49holiday Monday brightest bells with showers will follow in behind so the
02:53weather as I said chopping and changing a lot through the course of this long
02:56weekend keep up to date to yourself by following the Met Office across social
03:01media
