00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your latest broadcast from the Met Office. High pressure has dominated
00:05the weather picture through the course of the month so far, but we are seeing a change
00:08in the weather. Low pressure systems starting to move in from the Atlantic, giving spells
00:13of rain at times. Some stronger winds developing for a time as we move into Friday. Met Office
00:17warnings already in force across Scotland and North East England. Through into Wednesday
00:23evening time, cloud and rain spilling in from the Atlantic. Some of this could be heavy
00:26at times over the higher ground, but a lot of low cloud and drizzle spreading its way
00:30eastwards. As a result, as this moves in, temperatures rising, so 6 or 7 as a low, meaning
00:36a frost-free night for many. Clearer skies across northern parts of Scotland here, temperatures
00:41perhaps close to freezing for a time. But this is where we'll see the best of the sunshine
00:46first thing on Thursday morning. Elsewhere, cloudy start. Difficult commute if you are
00:51travelling over the higher ground, some rain, drizzle, hill fog around, but it should slowly
00:55improve as we go through the day. There will be a few brighter spells developing, perhaps
00:59the odd glimmer of sunshine. Temperatures rising to 13 or 14 Celsius as a result. Into
01:06the evening time on Thursday, the next weather system moves in. Outbreaks of heavy rain moving
01:11across Northern Ireland and into Scotland. The winds picking up here too, 50, 60 mile
01:15an hour gusts developing as we head into the early hours. Cloudy across England and Wales
01:21with some drizzle over the hills. A mild night for everyone, 6 to 9 Celsius generally
01:26as a low due to the increasing wind and a lot of cloud around. So a wet and windy start
01:30across the northern half of the UK, gusts 60, 70, locally 75 miles an hour across Scotland,
01:36perhaps North East England too. Some tricky travelling conditions, so do stay tuned to
01:40the forecast over the next few days. Cloudy across England and Wales, here some patchy
01:45rain pushing south. Very mild though, 13 to 15 Celsius across many parts of the UK,
01:51turning a bit brighter though into the afternoon as the winds slowly start to ease. Into the
01:55weekend, high pressure generally dominating. Saturday looks generally dry until later on
02:00a weather system will bring some patchy rain, but this should hopefully clear into Sunday
02:04to allow a brighter day with sunny spells and one or two showers. And winds generally
02:08lighter compared to Friday. So if you'd like more information on the weather where you
02:12are for the next few days, particularly on Friday if you live across the north of the
02:15UK, you can find more on our social media channels. I'll see you again soon.
