00:00Hello there. It's been a very wet and windy 24 hours or so as Storm Noah moves across
00:08the UK. And the remnants of Storm Noah will move out into the North Sea as we move through
00:12Thursday, only to be replaced by another area of low pressure across the southern half of
00:18the UK through Friday. But the good news is, as we go into the weekend, weather systems
00:22generally staying at bay, meaning it will turn drier, less windy, but also warmer too.
00:28Windy evening to come. Gales still around the coast, 50, 60 miles an hour. Into the
00:32early hours, the winds do start to ease a little, but still very strong winds around
00:37the coast, 50 miles an hour or so. So some disruption into the early hours. Cloudy across
00:43the northern half of the UK, still some showery outbreaks of rain, which could be heavy at
00:47times. Some clearer skies in the south, but a mixture of showers too. Temperatures, towns
00:52and cities generally around mid-single figures, but in the countryside, perhaps falling to
00:57around 2 or 3 degrees. So a chilly start to Thursday morning. Cloudy across the northern
01:02half of the UK. Showery outbreaks of rain, still quite gusty around the coast. Sunny
01:07spells in the south, but as we go through the day, we'll see for everyone a mixture
01:11of bright or sunny spells and scattered showers. Showers most frequent across parts of Northern
01:16Ireland, southern Scotland, into northern England, the Midlands, Wales. Some of these
01:20will be heavy at times. Hail and thunder still possible. Driest conditions, brightest skies
01:25across southern England and Wales. Best of the sunshine here and also parts of northern
01:29Scotland seeing quite a bit of dry weather too. Staying quite blustery, so it'll be quite
01:35cool as we go through the day on Thursday. Temperatures just lifting a little, 13 or
01:3914 Celsius at the best in the south. Some places still remaining in single figures under
01:45the cloud and showery outbreaks of rain and still quite gusty around the coasts. Those
01:49winds ease a little further through into Thursday evening. The showers die away for a time.
01:54Still quite cloudy across Scotland, northern England and then during the early hours, thicker
01:58cloud outbreaks of rain move back in to southern parts of Wales, southwest England. The winds
02:03starting to strengthen here, but nowhere near as high as they have been of late. Clearing
02:07skies elsewhere, a touch of frost is possible to take us into Friday morning as towns and
02:12cities fall to low single figures. Touch of frost, minus 1, minus 2 possible in the most
02:18prone spots as we start Friday morning. Plenty of sunshine across the north and the east.
02:23The cloud and the rain across southwest England, southern Wales slowly pushes its way eastwards
02:28through the day. Some uncertainty on the exact northern extent. We could see some cloud across
02:33the rest of Wales towards northern England, showery outbreaks of rain. But northern England,
02:37northern Ireland, Scotland, a brighter day. Sunny spells, scattered showers. Showers again
02:42could be heavy at times, the risk of some hail and thunder, but not quite as heavy as
02:46recent days and the winds generally much lighter than of late. Still a little breezy around
02:51some coasts and temperatures quite cool, especially under the cloud and patchy rain.
02:56Temperatures struggling 9, 10, 11 Celsius, but something milder perhaps just coming into
03:00the far southwest by the end of the day, 13 or 14 Celsius. And things improve further
03:06as we go into the weekend. On Saturday, we'll see largely dry weather, plenty of sunny spells.
03:13Temperatures up to 16 or 17 Celsius. Perhaps clouding over from the north and the west
03:17on Sunday, some patchy rain moving in here. But in the southeast, highs around 18 Celsius
03:23and temperatures rising further as we move into next week. So if you'd like more information
03:27on the weather, where you are over the next few days into the weekend, you can follow
03:31us on our social media channels. I'll see you again soon.
