00:00Hello there. Welcome to your latest national forecast from the Met Office. Well, the picture
00:04behind me sums up the weather today, a lot of cloud around outbreaks of rain. And we
00:08can see that on the bigger picture, frontal systems pushing across the UK over the next
00:1324 hours. So, the good news is high pressure tries to build back in for the Easter weekend.
00:17The weather fronts will win out again, particularly as we head into Easter Monday. So, looking
00:23at the picture for Wednesday afternoon, a lot of cloud across the whole of the UK, outbreaks
00:27of rain pushing slowly eastwards. Could be some heavier bursts for Northern Ireland,
00:32South West Scotland, the hills of Northern England too. But South East England holding
00:36on to the best of any brightness. Some sunny spells here, but just turning dry across the
00:41far north west of the UK too. With a lot of cloud around and outbreaks of rain, it will
00:46feel cooler than yesterday. A bit of a grey picture out there. Temperatures generally
00:519 to 12 Celsius, perhaps 13 or 14 across the south east where we hold on to some glimmers
00:56of sunshine for a time. Into the evening time, the rain continues to slowly push its
01:00way eastwards. Overnight, it grinds to a halt across eastern parts of England and Scotland.
01:06Some heavier bursts here. Breezy too. Elsewhere, we will see a lot of clouds, a risk of a few
01:11showers, but in between some clear spells. But it won't be as cold as recent nights.
01:16Temperatures holding up generally 5 to 9 Celsius to start Thursday morning. But it does mean
01:21a grey start for many, a wet start across the east with these outbreaks of rain. There
01:25will be a few glimmers of sunshine. And then as we move through the day, we'll see an increase
01:29in risk of some heavy showers developing, potentially leading to some disruption. Surface
01:34spray on the roads too. But there will be some sunny spells in between. Best of the
01:38drier, brighter weather across parts of Northern Ireland, Western Scotland. The eastern side
01:43of the UK generally staying cloudy. The rain clearing to then some heavy showers. These
01:48showers could be thundery too. And temperatures overall similar to Wednesday. Highs around
01:5313 or 14 Celsius. But get any sunshine this time of the year, it won't feel too bad.
02:00Into the evening time, we still have some heavy showers rumbling on through into the
02:04evening. So potentially thundery, perhaps merging to some longer spells of rain for
02:08a time down the east. Whilst the west starts to turn clearer, we get a ridge of high pressure
02:12starting to build in. So that will allow temperatures to dip away as we head into the start of Friday.
02:19So good Friday and into the weekend. Well, as that high pressure builds in, plenty of
02:23sunny spells to come. It will feel quite warm, temperatures rising mid to possibly
02:28high teens. But then we will see wetter and windier weather spreading in for Monday. So
02:33if you'd like more information on the weather over the next few days and through the Easter
02:36weekend, you can find more of that on our social media channels. See you again soon.
