Transcript
00:00Hello there. Turning wet and windy over the next 24 hours or so. In fact, Metobus wind
00:06warnings already out across parts of western and southwestern parts of the UK through Tuesday
00:12and into Wednesday. And we can see that on the bigger picture. An area of low pressure
00:16developing in the Atlantic pushing eastwards bringing strong winds and heavy rain. Wind
00:21gusts of 50, 60 miles an hour plus, particularly across the west. But this low pressure hanging
00:26around only slowly moving away as we head from Thursday and into Friday. So an unsettled
00:32few days to come and quite cool as well. Already turning quite chilly out there across the
00:38UK through Easter Monday evening. Showers tending to fade away though this area continues
00:44to bring showery rain across northern parts of England, southern and western Scotland
00:48into the early hours and a few showers for Wales and the southwest of England too. But
00:53losing their intensity compared to what we saw during the day. In between we will see
00:57some clear spells and this will allow it to turn quite chilly. Temperatures dipping into
01:01low single figures as we head into Tuesday morning. So perhaps a touch of grass frost
01:06for some where we've got the blue skies to start Tuesday morning. But already showers
01:12across parts of central, southern, western Scotland and then thicker cloud pushing in
01:16from the southwest as this area of low pressure moves in. Outbreaks of heavy rain pushing
01:20into Northern Ireland, Wales, central, southern England, southwest England. Rain really on
01:26and off and heavy through the day. Winds really picking up too. We could see gusts of 50-60
01:32miles an hour around the coast, even inland 40-50 miles an hour. Best of the sunshine
01:37holding on across parts of Scotland, eastern England. But it will be a fairly chilly day
01:42with those winds increasing. Best of the temperatures across the far east, 13 or 14 degrees. Really
01:48struggling in some western parts to reach double figures. As we move through into the
01:53evening time, this band of rain continues to push northwards, heavy at times leading
01:56to some disruption through the rush hour. Into the early hours we'll see blustery showers
02:02moving in from the southwest, some of these heavy. The rain falling as snow over the mountain
02:07tops of Scotland too. The winds just easing for a short time during the early hours and
02:12again this will allow temperatures to fall to low single figures and that means a fairly
02:18bright start to Wednesday morning. Showers from the word go. This arc of rain stretching
02:24around the country will bring the return of strong winds into parts of Wales, southwest
02:29England and along the coasts of southern England too as we move through the day. And this also
02:33falling as snow over the tops of the mountains in Wales. In between we will see some sunshine,
02:39lighter winds for parts of Scotland, eastern England but really cold feeling day. Temperatures
02:44struggling 8 or 9 Celsius, perhaps 11 to 12 across the far south and add on the strength
02:51of the wind it will feel colder than the numbers suggest. We stay unsettled as we move through
02:56the rest of the week. Sunshine and showers through Thursday and Friday but it looks like
03:00it does become a bit drier as we move into the weekend and temperatures start to rise
03:06a little too. So quite a lot going on in the weather over the next few days. You can keep
03:10up to date with the information on our social media channels. See you again soon.
