00:00Hello, there. Welcome to the latest broadcast from the Met Office. Good to see a bit of
00:05a north-south split in our weather through the second half of the weekend and then a
00:10cooler feel to begin next week. And it's all courtesy of this weather front that's slowly
00:15going to push its way southward through Sunday and into Monday across the U.K. And it is
00:21going to introduce some colder air as well. So, we rewind back to the second half of the
00:25weekend and we can see if we turn on the air mass, quite warm air over the last few
00:30days where we've seen the sunshine. And then as we look through Sunday and into Monday,
00:35that cold front pushes southwards and fresher air follows on behind with that northerly
00:40air stream. So, to the end of Saturday, fairly fine end to the day. We've still got low cloud
00:46across eastern parts and this slowly pushes back southwestwards as we head through the
00:51evening and overnight. Glist bells across western parts of England and Wales up into
00:55southern Scotland. This could lead to some mist and fog patches in places. And then there's
01:00that weather front moving in across parts of Northern Ireland, the Highlands and Islands
01:05giving some outbreaks of rain here. Eastern Scotland holding on to some clear spells,
01:09but again, the risk of some low cloud, mist and murk in places. Under the clear spells,
01:15temperatures dipping into single figures even under the low cloud in the south and the east,
01:19quite a cool night to come. But just notice Northern Ireland, northwestern parts of Scotland,
01:23some double figure lows here to take us into Sunday morning. And that's where we'll see
01:29that weather front outbreaks of rain here could be heavy at times, but already brightening
01:33up across Stornoway through the early morning. Low cloud should lift and break across England
01:39and Wales. It took its time on Saturday. It should be a little quicker on Sunday to allow
01:43those sunny spells to develop. It may just trigger one or two showers as the cloud breaks
01:48up. The weather front continues to slowly push its way southwards, clearing Northern
01:52Ireland by late afternoon into southern Scotland, northern England and perhaps north Wales later
01:58on to giving some patchy rain behind it. Still a legacy of cloud, but one or two showers
02:03and those winds switching around to a northerly direction. So we'll notice the difference
02:08in temperatures here, generally getting into the mid teens, but elsewhere, again, high
02:13teens, low 20s, 21, 22 degrees possible as a maximum temperature, perhaps still one or
02:18two places if we hold on to that cloud across the east, could be a little lower here. Mid
02:24teens at the best terms of UV, again, high levels in the best of the sunshine across
02:30southern parts of England, lower levels further north where we generally have cloudier skies,
02:34but you can still burn through cloud at this time of the year. In terms of pollen on Sunday
02:40as well, generally low counts across Scotland, Northern Ireland, much of England and Wales
02:46holding on to moderate pollen counts. Into the evening time, that weather front slowly
02:51pushes its way into parts of Wales, the Midlands, eastern England, eventually into southeast
02:56England as we head into the early hours. A few heavier bursts possible behind it, clear
03:00spells and scattered showers moving in. Showers most frequent across northwestern parts of
03:06the UK. Quite chilly temperatures, single figures across the north and the west despite
03:10the breeze and those showers. Under the cloud and the rain, holding up in double figures
03:15across the southeast where it will be a cloudy start to Monday morning. Outbreaks of rain
03:19first thing, but that front continues to slip away and then brighter skies following, though
03:25say brighter, there's still quite a bit of cloud around across the northern half of the
03:28UK. Scattered showers too. Some of the showers could be heavy at times. Some brighter sunnier
03:34skies across the Midlands, south Wales, southwest England. Still the risk of one or two showers
03:39here, but a northerly breeze, so temperatures generally down for everyone the mid to high
03:44teens at best. A generally near average for the time of year, but add on that breeze,
03:49it will feel on the chilly side. And then pollen counts also generally lower with that
03:54fresher air coming in from the north, perhaps a few moderate counts towards parts of Wales
04:00and the West Country. Looking ahead briefly, it looks like high pressure generally will
04:04be close if not over the UK as we move through the week. We might see some weather fronts
04:09passing through at times, increasing the risk of some showers, but there should be plenty
04:14of sunny spells. Quite a chilly start as well. It looks like temperatures will rise as we
04:19head towards the middle of the week onwards and particularly towards next weekend. So
04:24if you'd like more information with the weather over your area and the next few days, you
04:29can follow us on our social media channels. See you again soon.
