00:00Hello there. Welcome to your latest broadcast from the Met Office. Well, the scene behind
00:05me sums up this week. We will see some wet and windy weather at times moving through.
00:09And we can see that on the pressure pattern. Low pressure dominates bringing weather systems
00:14in from the Atlantic. Tightly packed isobars indicating some strong winds and this will
00:19lead to some large waves around western coast at times too. So a very unsettled week to
00:24come. Through this evening time, we've got outbreaks of rain pushing eastwards across
00:29the northern half of the UK. It could be heavy at times across the hills of Cumbria
00:32up into southwest Scotland leading to some tricky travelling conditions as we head into
00:38Monday morning. Elsewhere, cloudy night to come. Some outbreaks of patchy rain in places.
00:43And with lots of cloud around, it will be a fairly mild night. Temperatures holding
00:46up above freezing for everyone to start Monday morning. But a much greyer start compared
00:52to Sunday morning. Outbreaks of heavy rain across Northern Ireland, southern Scotland
00:56and northern England. This slowly pushing northwards through the day. Ahead of it, some
01:01glimmers of sunshine for northern Scotland. One or two showers across Orkney and Shetland.
01:06For the rest of England and Wales, Northern Ireland behind that weather system, fairly
01:10cloudy skies. We could see a few glimmers of brightness across central areas and then
01:14the next weather system moving in to southern parts. And in between, we'll see temperatures
01:19rising up to 14 or 15 Celsius where we get those glimmers of sunshine. A little bit cooler
01:25across the far north of Scotland at 8 or 9 Celsius. Into the evening time, a wet evening
01:30to come for many. Outbreaks of rain, which should be heavy at times, will push north
01:35and east with some tricky travelling conditions as we head into the early hours. And then
01:40towards the end of the night, some heavy showers also pushing into southwestern areas as the
01:45winds start to pick up. And as the winds pick up and there's a lot of cloud around, it won't
01:49be a cold night once more. Temperatures remaining at 9 or 10 Celsius to start Tuesday morning.
01:56So the overnight rain will start off across parts of Scotland, north-east England, slowly
01:59pushing north-eastward through the day, brightening up behind this with a scattering of heavy
02:04showers particularly across eastern parts of England. And then later on into the afternoon,
02:09we'll see further rain moving in from the Atlantic across parts of Northern Ireland
02:13and Western Scotland. And temperatures for the afternoon, 12, 13, 14 Celsius in some
02:19sheltered eastern spots. So really staying unsettled and we'll expect further wet and
02:25windy weather for Wednesday, particularly around Western Coast. We could see some high
02:30waves and gales as well. Some longer spells of rain then followed by heavy showers into
02:35Thursday and Friday and temperatures overall staying around average for the time of year.
02:40So there's quite a lot going on with the weather over the next few days. If you'd
