00:00Hello there. Welcome to the latest broadcast from the Met Office. We've seen mixed fortunes
00:05across the UK in the last 24 hours, some wetter weather, some sunshine too. Looking at the
00:09bigger picture, high pressure to the west of us allows weather fronts over the next
00:1324 hours to sink south. But into the weekend, high pressure establishes itself over the
00:18UK, meaning plenty of dry weather to come. Cloud will come and go at times and we will
00:22see some sunshine. Through this evening, clearest skies across central southern parts of England
00:28and Wales. Cloud and patchy rain will sink southwards as we head into the early hours.
00:33Frost developing under the clearest skies across southern areas. But elsewhere, generally
00:37a lot of clouds, some hill fog, some murky conditions developing. Behind these weather
00:41systems, it does clear up across northern and eastern parts of Scotland, a scattering
00:46of showers moving in. The wind's still quite brisk up here, generally holding temperatures
00:50above freezing under the cloud, but touch of frost possible across southern parts of
00:55England and Wales. Minus one, minus two possible to start Friday morning. Early brightness
01:00initially in southern England, but this being replaced by cloud as it sinks its way southwards.
01:05Still some splashes of rain possible, particularly on the back edge of the cloud. Sunshine following
01:09across northern England into northern Ireland and Scotland as we head through the day. Scattering
01:13of showers possible, particularly across eastern Scotland, eastern England. One or two of these
01:18could fall as sleet or maybe even a little bit of snow. The highest routes being blown
01:22in on quite a keen northerly breeze. So it will feel quite chilly down some eastern coasts.
01:27Seven or eight on a thermometer, perhaps only two or three is the feel. Best of the temperatures
01:32towards the cloudier zones, 10 or 11 Celsius towards the south and west. As we head into
01:38the evening time, the weather front clears the far south of the UK, clearest skies developing
01:43for many. Still a few showers across eastern Scotland, eastern England as we head into
01:48the early hours. The clearest skies across central and western areas. And here is where
01:52the temperatures will fall to freezing, if not below in the countryside. So towns and
01:56cities falling close to freezing, one or two degrees in the countryside, minus two to minus
02:00four. The breeze holding up across eastern areas, particularly the east coast of England
02:04and Scotland means temperatures here is not falling quite as low. But we will see then
02:09from the word go on Saturday, the risk of a few showers in the far east. Again, a little
02:13bit wintry over the tops of the highest ground. Best of the sunshine in the west, this becoming
02:17a bit more limited to Northern Ireland, western Scotland, perhaps the fringes of Wales and
02:21southwest England as cloud filters its way in. There will be some brighter breaks for
02:26everyone, but still the risk of one or two showers, particularly across some eastern
02:30areas being blown in on that northerly breeze. And temperatures feeling chillier through
02:33Saturday, six to eight degrees generally across the board, which is actually nearer to average
02:38for the time of year. And taking a very quick look at Sunday, a lot of cloud across the
02:43UK, a patchy frost to start the day, temperatures rising six to nine degrees. But most places
02:48should enjoy another dry day. If you'd like more information on the weather where you
02:52are over the next few days, you can visit us on our social media channels. I'll see
