Transcript
00:00Hello there, I'm Greg Dewhurst and welcome to your National Weather Forecast.
00:04Over the next 24 hours through the rest of the weekend, we'll continue to see largely settled conditions, particularly the further east you are.
00:11However, cloud and patchy rain will move into the west ahead of weather fronts, which will move in for the beginning of next week, bringing some heavier rain to parts of England and Wales.
00:20Through Saturday evening, plenty of clear skies across England and Wales, thicker cloud across Scotland and Norman Island with some patchy rain moving in here.
00:28Later on and during the early hours, the winds brisk for all, meaning temperatures won't fall too far, particularly across the southeast under the clear skies.
00:37Temperatures even here holding up above freezing, so not quite as cold as it was by Saturday morning.
00:43Winds gusting 50, 60 miles an hour for a time across northwest Scotland, but these easing by the end of the night.
00:49So fresh start to Sunday morning, but blue skies for many across England and Wales, greyer skies for Northern Ireland and Western Scotland with some patchy rain.
00:58But this starting to clear north westwards as we move through the day with some brightness developing here.
01:03Also, eastern Scotland seeing plenty of sunshine too.
01:06The winds will generally be coming in from a southerly direction, importing some mild air, though feeling chilly along some southeastern coasts with the air coming in from the near continent.
01:16But temperatures a little above average for the time of year with brisk southerly winds, but not quite as strong as they were on Saturday.
01:24Through the evening time on Sunday, we'll continue to see cloud and brisk winds moving slowly towards the far west of the UK.
01:31Elsewhere, we'll continue to see clear skies, maybe one or two showers across Wales and the West Country ahead of some rain moving into Northern Ireland and Western Scotland by the end of the evening.
01:41Clearer skies always across eastern England.
01:44The outlook is for wet and windy weather to move in across the whole country across on Monday.
