00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your latest Met Office national forecast. Over the last 12 to 24
00:06hours, Storm Betty has brought some heavy thundery rain and strong winds to parts of
00:10the U.K. The remnant still hangs around to the northwest as we finish the weekend and
00:15into the beginning of next week. In fact, rain might move back into western parts of
00:20the U.K. by Monday. But high pressure building in from the south means plenty of dry weather
00:25and sunny spells, particularly across southern parts of England and Wales. For the rest of
00:30the Saturday, it's a fine end to the day, still rather windy across the northwest, but
00:34the winds do continue to ease compared to earlier in the day. Elsewhere overnight, generally
00:39dry, plenty of clear spells, just one or two showers across western areas. With winds falling
00:44light, we could see one or two shallow mist and fog patches across central and eastern
00:48areas of England, but generally, temperatures across the board holding up 15 or 16 Celsius
00:54to take us into Sunday morning. So, it means a bright start, plenty of sunny spells, particularly
00:59across central and eastern areas. A few showers already across the west where the cloud is
01:04thickest. Then through the day, for the vast majority of us, it will be a bright day, plenty
01:09of sunny spells. A scattering of showers developing, one or two of them on the heavy side, but
01:14most places will stay dry. Perhaps across parts of Northern Ireland, central and northern
01:18parts of Scotland seeing the most frequent showers, but even here, plenty of dry weather.
01:23Still breezy around the coast, particularly across the north and the west, but winds much
01:27lighter compared to Saturday. And in terms of temperatures, again, getting into the low
01:3220s for the vast majority, around 25 towards the southeast and the best of that sunshine.
01:39Into the evening time on Sunday, any showers across England and Wales fade. However, across
01:44parts of Northern Ireland into Scotland, the showers just pick up here. We could see some
01:48heavy showers developing into the early hours, in between some clear spells. Again, a few
01:53shallow mist and fog patches forming across central and eastern parts of England under
01:58those clear skies and still a little breezy around the coasts. Temperatures once more,
02:03Towns and Cities 14 to 16 Celsius, a little lower in the countryside, but for all remaining
02:09in double figures. Now, this area of low pressure just starts to move back in again as we head
02:14through Monday, bringing some more persistent rain to parts of Northern Ireland, Western
02:18Scotland, which could turn heavy later on in the day. But for the vast majority, it's
02:23another bright day on Monday. Plenty of sunny spells, a scattering of showers, again, one
02:27or two of them on the heavy side, but lots of places staying dry, particularly towards
02:31the far south and east of England. And here we'll see temperatures rising to around 24
02:36or 25 Celsius, getting into the low 20s in the best of the sunshine further north and
02:41west as well. Over the course of the week ahead, well, it's a mixed picture. We'll continue
02:47to see some showers across northern and western parts of the UK in particular, plenty of warm
02:52sunny spells, but there are signs it does start to turn a little cooler by the end of
02:56the week. See you again soon.
