00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your latest broadcast from the Met Office. Parts of the U.K. have
00:05been quite cloudy through the past 24 hours or so, best of the sunshine towards the southeast.
00:11And what we'll see through the rest of the weekend is the Azores High just extends a
00:14little further north and east across the U.K., allowing to break up that cloud a little more
00:19ahead of then weather systems moving in as we move into the beginning of next week, turning
00:25it wetter and windier, particularly across the northwest.
00:28For this evening time, we still have some showers across southern parts of Scotland,
00:31northern England, perhaps Wales and the West Country into the early hours too. Northwest
00:36Scotland also seeing further blustery showers here through the night. In between, there
00:40will be clear spells, but with enough of a breeze around, we should prevent any mist
00:45and fog patches. Temperatures in towns and cities generally holding up in double figures,
00:4912 to 14 Celsius, a little lower in the countryside, perhaps around 8 or 9 Celsius to start Sunday.
00:56But a bright start for many, plenty of sunny spells, though there could be still a few
00:59showers around western parts of England and Wales, as well as parts of Scotland, heaviest
01:04and most frequent, where the winds are strongest across the highlands. But even here, the showers
01:08will tend to fade away as we move through the afternoon. Many places dry, plenty of
01:12sunny spells through the day, winds generally falling light for many, and it'll just lift
01:18temperatures a little higher where we see the sunshine. High teens to low 20s, temperatures
01:22around 24, 25 degrees Celsius towards the very far southeast. Into the evening time
01:28on Sunday, a dry end to the day, plenty of clear spells, but then the cloud will start
01:33to thicken from the west as we head into the early hours. Parts of Northern Ireland, Northwest
01:37Scotland thick enough for a few spots of rain come the end of the night. Elsewhere, light
01:42winds, clear skies, it'll allow temperatures to dip away, low double digits in the towns
01:47and cities. Again, 6 or 7 Celsius possible in the countryside, a few mist and fog patches
01:52forming across England and Wales. Seas quickly clearing though as the sun gets to work on
01:56Monday morning. However, cloud and outbreaks of rain will quickly push in from the Atlantic.
02:02The rain turning heavy across parts of Northern Ireland, Western Scotland. The winds picking
02:06up through the Irish Sea as well. We'll see gales developing by the afternoon. Sunshine
02:11turning hazy ahead of this, best of the blue skies holding on across parts of East Anglia,
02:15southeast England. The winds coming in from the south, so drawing in some quite warm air.
02:19Temperatures 24, 25, locally 26 Celsius here. But under the cloud and outbreaks of rain
02:25further north and west, struggling around 16 to 18 Celsius. The humidity also rising
02:31as the rain moves in. So the rest of the weekend, it's largely settled, plenty of sunny spells
02:37through Sunday, but then turning wetter and windier into the beginning of next week. More
02:41information on this, you can follow us on our social media channels. See you again soon.
