00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your latest forecast from the Met Office. A north-west-south-east
00:05split developing with our weather over the next 24 hours. Low pressure moving in from
00:10the Atlantic bringing wet and windy weather to northern and western areas. However, high
00:14pressure keeps those weather systems at bay across the south-east and at the same time
00:19will start to import some higher temperatures here, possibly 28, 29 Celsius across the south-east
00:25by Wednesday. Cloud thickening and outbreaks of rain moving
00:29in through Monday evening across Northern Ireland stretching across much of Scotland
00:33as we head into the early hours. The rain turning increasingly heavy with a Met Office
00:38warning across south-west Scotland coming into force by the end of the night. Some heavy
00:43downbursts developing, some strong and gusty winds could lead to some disruption to travel
00:48first thing on Tuesday morning. Generally staying drier the further south and east you
00:52are with light winds across England and Wales. We may see a few shallow mist and fog patches.
00:58Generally staying in double figures due to the southerly air flow.
01:02So a wet start to the day across Northern Ireland, Scotland. Some heavy bursts of rain.
01:06This transferring north and eastwards. Some travel disruption possible. The Met Office
01:10warning staying out for much of the day across south-west Scotland. Heavy rain across Cumbria
01:15as well. Some tricky travelling conditions and disruption possible here. The weather
01:19front just pushes a little further south-eastwards during the day affecting parts of Wales, the
01:23west country. Some patchy rain in places. Brighter skies behind this. Northern Ireland,
01:29northern and western Scotland seeing some sunny spells and scattered showers. Staying
01:32quite breezy here too. Best of the sunshine across south-east England. Turning increasingly
01:37hazy though as that weather system nears and temperatures rising in the sunshine around
01:4225 possibly 26 Celsius. Warm and humid under the cloud and rain around 19 to 23 degrees.
01:48Fresh air behind the frontal system with sunny spells and showers across the north-west.
01:54Into the evening time this system starts to slow down. It meanders across central western
01:59parts of England and Wales through the day on Wednesday. Some outbreaks of rain possible
02:05at times but tending to ease. Either side of this drier weather with showers across
02:10Northern Ireland and Scotland. Clear spells across the south-east and the warm air holding
02:16on here. 15-16 Celsius. A little fresher across the north-west. And as I mentioned
02:21this weather front not going anywhere quickly. Just stays across parts of northern England,
02:26the midlands, Wales, south-west England through Wednesday. Outbreaks of patchy rain at times
02:30but it should break up to allow some brighter spells to develop. To the south-east of this
02:35warm sunny locally hot temperatures reaching 28-29 Celsius. Behind this fresher air starts
02:41moving in. Sunny spells and scattered showers. 17-21 Celsius. Under the cloud around 23-24
02:48degrees. So a mixed picture over the next few days. Wet and windy weather across the
02:54north-west in particular. Warm and sunny in the south-east. If you'd like more information
