22 August - National weather forecast.
Transcript
00:00Hi there, and after yesterday's rain a much brighter and drier day for many feeling pleasantly warm in the sunshine, especially in the south
00:08So we have low pressure to the far east and that is gradually clearing into the continent
00:12So an improving picture there
00:14High to the south and that high pressure is going to come to dominate the weather over the next few days of settling down
00:20So during the course of the day we have showers spreading south down the spine of the country some of those showers starting to actually affect
00:27Many eastern areas by the afternoon elsewhere rather cloudy with any brightness the best of any brightness on offer in the west
00:34The west is best
00:36Feeling rather warm in the sunshine
00:39Temperatures up a notch on Saturday with highs of 23 and 24 in the south highs of 20 across many northern areas
00:47So into this evening, so showers dying out from late afternoon early evening with most places becoming dry
00:54Turning rather misty with some patchy fog forming particularly across parts of Northern Ireland by dawn and a few clear spells
01:02developing elsewhere
01:04Overnight lows mostly in double figures are staying fairly warm dropping into single figures where the clouds
01:11clear in the west
01:14So a cloudy start for many on Monday and tending to brighten up with some decent
01:20Sunny spells on offer as the day progresses
01:23Although during the afternoon a few light showers are likely to develop in the west particularly across high ground
01:31Temperatures so warming up a little bit on Sunday with highs of 23 and 24
01:38across many parts of the south
01:40When highs of 21 and 22 across the north and moving into the outlooks
01:45Great news because high pressures come to dominate so prolong sunny spells although cloudy at times depressing temperatures a little
