21 August - National weather forecast presented by Dan Stroud
Transcript
00:00Hello. It's a messy picture across the country during the course of Sunday, with the best
00:04of the sunshine reserved for northern England and parts of Scotland. But looking at the
00:09latest radar, we do have some sporadic outbreaks of rain across the south and west, and that
00:16rain will edge ever so slightly further eastwards during the course of Sunday afternoon. It's
00:21a rather cloudy picture, and that cloud will also spell eastwards, although the very far
00:26east of England holding on to some brighter spells well into the afternoon. Temperatures
00:31around average across the north of the country, although feeling very warm across parts of
00:36the south with highs of 24. And it will feel increasingly humid overnight as some more
00:41humid air arrives across parts of Devon and Cornwall, and a fair amount of cloud to boot.
00:48Overnight temperatures dropping into single figures across parts of Scotland under some
00:52clearer skies, though very warm across the south.
00:56So Monday is a rather cloudy day, with a new band of rain moving eastwards during the course
01:01of the day, with some heavy outbreaks of rain, but that rain reaching the east coast by the
01:05afternoon. Temperatures generally around average, although very warm across parts of the south
01:10with highs of 24 and 25. Remaining changeable as we move into Tuesday and Wednesday, with
01:17further outbreaks of rain expected across the country, although those temperatures rather
01:22warm across the south, if not hot at times.
