00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update. Good news for parks, gardens and also farmland.
00:06We're seeing some rain over the next few days, certainly after a dry April, this is
00:11welcome rain and it will also mean with a canopy of cloud, temperatures will be relatively
00:16mild for this time of year. So overnight through Tuesday and into Wednesday, cloud continues
00:22to thicken across the country with some persistent rain across western Scotland. But anywhere
00:27else you'll never be too far away from some damp conditions, rain and drizzle with low
00:31cloud particularly over the hills as well as the mountains. Temperatures then holding
00:36up into Wednesday morning, so a mild start to the day but it will be cloudy and again
00:41wet in places. Certainly some persistent rain for a time across western Scotland, extending
00:46down towards Northern Ireland, the North West of England as well as Wales. Elsewhere always
00:50thicker cloud and again some patchy rain and drizzle. As you can see it just coming and
00:54going across more southern areas of England and Wales, perhaps along that south coast
00:58you could just get away with some brighter and drier weather for a time through the morning.
01:03So through the day we watch as this system slowly sort of tracks from the west towards
01:08the east but the cloud will break up through the morning into the afternoon. It will overturn
01:12allowing some sunny spells to come through and this will trigger some showers through
01:16the day. Now these showers could be heavy with the risk of thunder and hail through
01:20the afternoon, particularly across England, even eastern Scotland for a time before things
01:24dry up from the west. Bit of a breeze across western Scotland, a lighter wind elsewhere.
01:30Temperatures then typically in any sunshine coming in around 16 to 19 degrees Celsius.
01:35So that's the picture on Wednesday. Through Thursday most places seeing some fine conditions
01:40before this system here sinks down across the country bringing with it cloud and some
01:44outbreaks of rain into Friday. However notice towards the west, high pressure asserts itself
01:50into the weekend. It could be a bit cooler across Scotland, north-east England and even
01:54so you'll see some fine weather, some dry conditions, even some sunshine, although the
01:58chance of some rain across the far north of Scotland through the weekend. So let's add
02:03a little detail for Thursday, yes it's going to be a fine day with some sunshine. Temperatures
02:08even higher than Wednesday, 16 to 20 degrees Celsius before thickening cloud brings outbreaks
02:13of rain from the north-west. Bye bye.
