00:00Hello there welcome to your Monday afternoon weather update from the Met
00:04Office. Now over the next few days the weather remains fairly benign but rather
00:07messy. Let me show you why. Here's your broader picture. Weather fronts
00:11streaming in on a keen breeze across the northwest at the same time high
00:16pressure exerts some influence from the southwest so these features will turn
00:20weaker as they move their way south and eastwards. Always more clouds across
00:24Scotland and Northern Ireland with some outbreaks of rain through Tuesday and
00:28into Wednesday. Brighter skies always towards the south. However through Monday
00:33afternoon a thicker area of cloud extends from the wash East Anglia down
00:38towards southern parts of England as well as the West Country. We hang on to
00:41some brighter skies across the far southeast of England and some brighter
00:45weather coming and going across the bulk of Wales as well as Northern England. A
00:49rash of showers though for Scotland with a stronger wind here and one or two
00:54showers can't be ruled out across Northern Ireland and the far north of
00:57England as we head through the afternoon but look at these temperatures
00:5917 in the north 24 in the south with that sunshine. Now through the evening we
01:06lose the clouds across more southern areas see some clearer skies coming
01:09through as showers become confined to the far north as well as west of
01:13Scotland and again a stronger wind here and then later on the cloud will
01:16thicken across Northern Ireland with some outbreaks of rain and drizzle
01:19streaming down towards the Isle of Man Anglesey the far north of Wales where we
01:24will see some damp conditions to start the day on Tuesday. Cooler across more
01:29southern areas but some brighter skies before this cloud slightly thickens
01:33again from the north of Wales. Patchy rain and drizzle never too far away
01:37across the coastline here but brighter weather across central and eastern areas
01:41of Scotland. North East England also seeing some sunshine before the cloud
01:45thickens across western Scotland with some outbreaks of rain moving in through
01:49Tuesday afternoon and into Wednesday. Temperatures then 18 to 22 degrees
01:53Celsius feeling warm in that sunshine. Through Tuesday evening and overnight
01:57you can see this cloud and rain just extending down towards the far north of
02:01England. Rain always more persistent across the western side so a damp day on
02:06Wednesday across the north always more cloud further south but some brighter
02:09skies across central and southern parts of England and Wales feeling warm here
02:13with temperatures coming in around 22 degrees Celsius.
