00:00Hi there. It's been a cool start to June for many of us, but it is going to turn warmer
00:05once again by the end of the week. However, before that happens, we've got some rain to
00:09talk about, some showers across the UK, some longer spells of wet weather, especially towards
00:16the south. Heavy downpours developing through the afternoon, those merging into longer spells
00:19of wet weather across southwest England into central southern England, and then that tends
00:24to migrate eastwards through the rest of the day. Otherwise, some glimmers of brightness
00:29through north Wales into the north Midlands, parts of northern England, but a scattering
00:33of showers here and certainly a lot of cloud for northern Ireland into the far north of
00:37England, central and southern Scotland, and again, some lively downpours expected here.
00:42But temperatures staying on the cool side, a degree or two lower than average for the
00:48time of year. 17 to 20 typically could get a 21 or 22 Celsius somewhere towards the east
00:53Midlands, east Anglia, before the rain sets in, and that rain is setting in. It's pushing
00:58through during the evening, developing fairly widely across central southern England into
01:02parts of the Midlands, east Anglia and the southeast by the end of the evening. But that,
01:08as it pushes east, will also turn into a developing area of low pressure, bringing a strong breeze
01:14through the Channel into southeast England, and more especially the near continents, and
01:19that's going to potentially bring impacts to the Low Countries as well as Germany overnight.
01:23Elsewhere across the UK, showers tending to ease in most places, but continuing here
01:28and there, eastern Scotland for example, north-west England and north Wales, and temperatures
01:33tending to dip to 8 to 12 Celsius typically. So some showers to start things off on Wednesday.
01:39The rain, though, in the southeast gets out of the way, and actually for many it is a
01:43brighter day. There'll be a few glimmers of sunlight coming through, but again, a lot
01:48of cloud cover, and those showers developing fairly widely by the end of the afternoon.
01:52A scattering, though, they'll move through fairly quickly where they do occur, brought
01:57through by a westerly breeze, and temperatures a little higher compared with Tuesday. We're
02:02looking at the low 20s in places. You can even see 23 Celsius, so actually not far from
02:07average across most of the UK. The average for the time of year is about 17, 18, 19 Celsius
02:12in the north, low 20s further south. Then into the evening on Wednesday, we're going
02:18to see the showers ease in many places, but they'll continue towards the north-west, and
02:23actually it's towards the north-west where we'll keep the more changeable weather through
02:27the rest of the week, whilst it turns drier, sunnier, and hotter towards the south and
02:33the east. We've got low pressure continuing to come along from the Atlantic, continuing
02:37to draw more changeable wind and rain in the north-west, but with high pressure over the
02:42continent and this reorientation of the weather pattern, we're going to see some heat come
02:46along from the south as well. So, temperatures rising, approaching 30 Celsius in places
02:52by the weekend, along with some strong sunshine, but the heat won't be for everyone. Towards
02:57the north-west, it will stay a bit more unsettled.
