00:00Hi there, still some showers about today but most places will be dry with some bright or
00:06sunny spells coming through at times. High pressure is to the west at the moment, that's
00:12helping to kill off the unstable northerly airflow but it's still fairly cold out there
00:18and still a few showers prevail, primarily parts of Pembrokeshire into parts of Cornwall
00:24through the rest of the day, as well as eastern England, especially Norfolk I think, and into
00:29London and the south east. Elsewhere, sunny spells and feeling pleasant enough in the
00:34sunshine out of the wind, highs of 9-11C but still that cold wind blows and that will feel
00:41chilly on the North Sea coast. Nevertheless, the showers do ease away through the evening
00:46and then clear spells for southern areas for a time, whilst cloud topples into the north
00:51and that cloud will bring some light outbreaks of rain to northern and western Scotland,
00:56parts of north-west England, north Wales and perhaps northern Ireland as well. Generally
01:00light rain and mostly focused around hills and coasts I think. Further south, under clear
01:06skies temperatures falling and another widespread frosty one for the south of England, perhaps
01:11south Wales as well, with temperatures in rural spots below freezing. But frost free
01:16further north as that cloud tends to topple south-eastwards during Friday morning, reaching
01:21most parts by mid-morning, but you can see there's still some holes in the cloud, it's
01:27medium high cloud layers, so it's still going to be bright with some breaks in the clouds,
01:32some sunny spells coming through for central and eastern areas in particular. Thicker cloud
01:36for western Scotland, northern Ireland, north-west England, north Wales and a few light outbreaks
01:40of rain here, again mostly over higher ground and coastal areas. But as that cloud arrives
01:45it also contains some milder air and so all in all, a slightly less cold day compared
01:50to Thursday, 11-13C, the difference marked there across the North Sea coast, we'll have
01:55lost that biting wind. Into Friday evening, decent conditions for bonfire night, it looks
02:01like for most places it's going to be dry, just some outbreaks of rain feeding into the
02:05west of Scotland there, one or two spots for north-western hills and coasts elsewhere.
02:10But for many it's dry with clear spells and generally light winds. That's all going to
02:15change though as this low pressure approaches on Friday night. The warm front initially
02:19bringing the thicker cloud and those light outbreaks of rain. But the cold front brings
02:23heavier rain and then following that heavier rain, tightly packed isobars, so some strong
02:28winds later Saturday. So a wet start then as that cold front pushes into western Scotland
02:35and northern Ireland on Saturday morning. Heavy rain for a time, large rainfall totals
02:40building up for western Scotland and then the wet weather sinking into south-west Scotland,
02:44north-west England, north Wales by lunchtime. To the south, breezier, yeah, and a bit more
02:49cloud around but still some breaks in the cloud, plenty of fine weather through Saturday
02:54for the south and south-east. As that rain sinks south though, the winds really pick
02:59up later Saturday, gales or severe gales for northern and western coasts of Scotland in
03:04particular. But the wind of course coming from a milder direction, temperatures are
03:10going to be up at 11 to 13 Celsius. That's all from me, bye bye for now.
