00:00Hello, the cool and changeable weather that we've seen so much of recently is gradually
00:05changing to drier, brighter and warmer weather. But it's going to take some time, particularly
00:11in the north where continued showers overnight across northern and western Scotland, Northern
00:17Ireland, north-west England and north Wales will eventually become confined to coastal
00:22areas, clear spells elsewhere and a cool night to come with a north-westerly airflow and
00:27temperatures in some sheltered spots in the single figures. But it's in the south and
00:31the east where we see the best of the sunshine first thing Tuesday and actually some decent
00:36breaks in the cloud by the afternoon for Scotland, for northern England, into the north Midlands,
00:41north Wales. Fewer showers compared to Monday here, a lot of cloud further south and with
00:47that cool air in place, well temperatures not far from average, in fact in some spots
00:52a little below average, 22 Celsius in the south, 19 to 20 further north. But by the
00:57end of the afternoon, well it's starting to turn more damp for western Scotland, northern
01:02Ireland as well. A couple of weather fronts moving in will bring spells of rain to Scotland
01:08and then eventually overnight, northern England, north Wales, northern Ireland. For many that
01:12rain will be on and off but it will become increasingly heavy and persistent over the
01:16western hills of Scotland along with a freshening breeze. However, as the cloud and those out
01:22breaks of rain move in from the northwest, well they're also dragging in more humid air
01:26from the Atlantic so it's not as cool as we start off Wednesday, temperatures in many
01:31spots in the mid-teens. And in the south, well no rain at all, in fact it's a dry week
01:37for southern parts of England and south Wales. Some sunny spells coming through by the afternoon
01:41here, a brighter day compared to Tuesday and a warmer day with temperatures reaching the
01:47mid-20s in places. But for northern England, Scotland, northern Ireland, cloudier and with
01:55spells of rain as well as a gusty breeze, it's going to feel on the cool side. So we
02:00keep the cool and changeable weather in the north over the next couple of days. It's increasingly
02:05dry, sunny and warm in the south. And by the end of the week, high pressure to the west
02:12increasingly influences much of the UK. This has come from the Azores, it's migrating towards
02:18the UK, the isobars are opening out by Friday and that high is extending its influence across
02:24more and more of the UK, keeping weather fronts confined to the north of Scotland where the
02:29weather will stay at times cloudy and showery but elsewhere across the UK. By Saturday at
02:35least it's turning drier, brighter and warmer. More details on the week ahead and the trends
02:41into next week on the week ahead forecast which you can find on YouTube.
