00:00Hello there, welcome to a weather update from the Met Office. The heat will build
00:04over the weekend, it's going to be hotter than last weekend with an extreme heat
00:07warning in place across much of England and Wales through Sunday and when the
00:12heat peaks through Monday as well as Tuesday. Before that though a fresher
00:16feel to things overnight across England and Wales, temperatures a lot lower than
00:20the last few nights and across Scotland and Northern Ireland you can see a few
00:23showers there particularly across the north as well as the west, one or two
00:25running in across the far northwest of England as well but many areas seeing
00:29some clearer skies overnight and temperatures falling to around 8 or 9
00:34in the highlands of Scotland and even in the Midlands we'll see around 10 or 11
00:39still hanging on to the mid-teens towards the southeast but a lot lower
00:43than the night before where we saw temperatures in excess of 20 degrees
00:48Celsius overnight. First thing then on Thursday morning pleasant for most
00:51with again some sunny spells but look at this a rash of showers develops across
00:55Western Scotland, Northwest England, Northern Ireland and they'll develop in
00:59land further east through the day across eastern Scotland as far south as
01:02the Humber even Washby could see one or two here. Now across much of Wales you'll
01:07see some fine conditions, England central southern parts of England certainly down
01:10towards the West Country, blue sky and sunshine here and that's where we'll see
01:14the best of the temperatures again if you like the warm weather, very warm
01:18across southern parts of Wales and again very warm towards the southeast where
01:22we'll see values coming in around 27, 28 degrees Celsius. So that's the picture on
01:28Thursday. Come Thursday night into Friday an area of cloud and rain slides
01:33in towards the west across Western Scotland as well as Northern Ireland
01:37Northwest England. We'll see some showers in its wake through the afternoon on
01:41Friday and then slowly temperatures rise into the weekend where most places
01:46dominated by high pressure will see dry and fine conditions and also some strong
01:50sunshine. By Sunday there's an extreme heat warning in place across much of
01:55England and Wales as temperatures rise into the high 20s if not the low 30s and
02:01that heat extends across the country through Saturday and into Sunday where
02:05we're expecting the peak heat in the south on Monday and into Tuesday and
02:10that warning extends into Tuesday now wherever you are take care and I'll see
02:14you soon.
