00:00Hello again. Warmer weather is on the way, just around the corner in fact.
00:05However, it's another fairly cloudy day today and for many there's some very heavy showers around also.
00:11Here's the bigger picture from space, a lot of cloud covering the UK,
00:14but brighter skies already appearing for Northern Ireland, Wales and southwest England
00:18and it's going to continue to brighten up in many western parts.
00:21A few heavy showers around eastern Scotland during the early afternoon,
00:25but here too it's going to brighten up this afternoon.
00:28It's mostly across central and eastern parts of England where we're looking at some heavy showers,
00:32northeast England, some parts of the Midlands drifting towards East Anglia.
00:36As skies start to brighten, temperatures ticking up maybe into the high teens across parts of the south,
00:42perhaps even 21 or 2 locations if we see some sunshine,
00:45but generally we're only at 15, 16.
00:47I'm feeling cooler when these showers come along over parts of Yorkshire this afternoon
00:52and then into the evening through parts of the south Midlands, East Anglia and the southeast,
00:56some quite heavy showers at least for a time before they scoot away
01:00and generally after midnight, certainly most of England, Wales, Northern Ireland will be dry.
01:05Always looking at thicker cloud across the western side of Scotland
01:08and the far north where there will be at times some outbreaks of rain.
01:12With clearing skies, temperatures are going to drop down into single figures over parts of England and Wales
01:17down to 7 or 8 Celsius, so not particularly chilly,
01:21but a fine day to come for the majority on Thursday.
01:24Could be some mist and fog early on, shouldn't last too long.
01:28It will stay pretty glum across the Highlands, the Western Isles and the Northern Isles
01:31with outbreaks of rain on and off during the day.
01:34Maybe a little bit of showery rain southwest Scotland,
01:37perhaps the old light shower for Northern Ireland at times,
01:39but for most it's dry and certainly for much of England and Wales.
01:43A bright enough day with some decent spells of sunshine,
01:46only the very small chance of seeing a shower or two here.
01:49There will be quite a bit of cloud around still,
01:51but most places seeing some blue sky and that will lift the temperatures.
01:55Feeling quite a bit warmer than of late,
01:57finally ticking back up over 20 Celsius quite widely across the heart of England 2021.
02:03Even further north it is probably a bit warmer than today,
02:06but still not particularly warm where we've got the cloud and the rain over the Highlands
02:10and the Western Isles, just say 13 or 14 here at best.
02:14That patchy rain will continue during Thursday evening.
02:17If anything, the rain is likely to pep up in the northwest as we head into Friday.
02:21Again further south most places dry and clear for time,
02:24but this increasing cloud and rain is a set of weather fronts
02:28that will steadily spread southwards during Friday,
02:32introducing more cloud and at times some outbreaks of rain.
02:36Before that tends to scoot away into the weekend and high pressure builds back in.
02:41And this high should bring most of us a fine bright weekend.
02:44And again with temperatures by day back into the high teens or maybe the low 20s.
02:49So some fine weather on the way.
02:50Signs of things warming up further as we go into next week.
02:53For more on that catch our 10 day trend video on YouTube,
02:58which will be posted on Wednesday afternoon.
