00:00Hello and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04Saturday has been an unsettled and breezy day for many, with some heavy and thundery showers around for some,
00:10though there have also been some sunny spells.
00:13Looking ahead to tonight and there are further scattered showers around,
00:16most frequent in the west and some more isolated ones in the east.
00:20These will ease for a time before further showers and longer spells of rain move in to Northern Ireland,
00:25South West England and western parts of Wales and Scotland.
00:29Strong winds will also continue tonight and this will help to keep temperatures up,
00:34though in sheltered rural locations mainly across eastern England and Scotland,
00:37where there will be some clear spells, temperatures may just dip into the single figures.
00:42For Sunday it will be a largely dry and fine day across the eastern half of the UK,
00:46with just the odd isolated shower.
00:48In the west though, showers or longer spells of rain are set to continue
00:52and these could be heavy or thundery for some.
00:55Strong winds will also affect all parts with a chance of coastal gales in the west.
01:00Temperatures tomorrow will be similar to what we've seen today,
01:04with highs of around 22 to 23 in the east.
01:09Now looking ahead into Sunday evening and that east-west split that we've seen in our weather
01:15over the last few days is set to continue,
01:17though we will start to see a few more showers pushing their way into northeast England
01:22and eastern parts of Scotland.
01:24Though across the southeast it will be a dry end to the weekend
01:27with some sunny spells into the late evening.
01:30Now what does the weather have in store for the start of the new week?
01:34Well it will remain unsettled with low pressure not too far away
01:37and temperatures around or just above average.
