00:00Hello and welcome to our latest weather update from the Met Office. So there have been a
00:05fair few showers around but for many it has actually been dry and bright too. Let's have
00:10a look at the detail for this evening's forecast and slowly those showers will become more
00:16confined to north-western areas. Plenty of clear spells elsewhere and with light winds
00:22too we could see the odd patch of mist and fog forming for some southern and eastern
00:27areas. This will also mean that the temperatures will drop a bit more readily tonight so we
00:32could quite widely see temperatures in rural areas dropping into the mid if not low single
00:38figures. With clear skies around though it will be a cool but bright start to Monday
00:44with plenty of early morning brightness. Soon though clouds will start to bubble up and
00:49that will allow for showers to develop. Compared to Sunday most of these showers will be light
00:54in nature and confined to the northern half of the UK. There will be some heavier showers
01:00across the far north of Scotland and they could also be the odd isolated thunderstorm
01:05there too. But looking down towards the south-west after a mostly bright day we're starting to
01:10see a little bit more cloud moving in here as we go into the afternoon. Feeling pleasant
01:16once again though in any of those sunny spells with highs reaching 22 if not 23 in the south-east.
01:24Now looking back down towards the south-west and we see plenty of cloud and outbreaks of
01:28rain starting to make its way in as we go through Monday evening. Clear spells ahead
01:34of this though as showers ease out mostly becoming confined to the north of Scotland.
01:40But that cloud will slowly make its way eastwards with further outbreaks of rain and brisk winds
01:46too especially for English Channel coasts. But further north it's a change in fortunes
01:51with clearer skies here so temperatures dropping most readily here into the single figures
01:56once again. So a north-south divide really on Tuesday with plenty of brightness and mostly
02:03dry weather across the northern half of the UK. There's still a few showers across northern
02:08Scotland. Further south across much of England and Wales seeing that cloud and rain make
02:14its way eastwards. Quite a dull day really with plenty of drizzle, mist and murk for
02:20western coasts. And still some fairly brisk winds across the south coast though still
02:25seeing temperatures reaching 21 or 22. But probably not quite feeling so warm with all
02:30that cloud around. Let's have a look at the outlook and what we've got coming for much
02:35of the rest of the week. So you might have seen that it's forecast to turn a bit warmer
02:40as we go towards midweek. We could see temperatures reaching into the mid-twenties maybe even
02:46locally the high-twenties. So some mostly dry and settled weather at least for Wednesday
02:51and Thursday. Very short-lived though as we see further rain making its way eastwards
02:57as we go to the end of the week on Friday. Thank you for listening and for all your latest
