00:00Hello and welcome to our latest weather update from the Met Office. So we've seen Storm Antony
00:06bringing some wet and windy weather across the UK today, but let's have a look at what
00:11this evening has in store. Now Storm Antony will slowly clear away to the southeast with
00:16those wind warnings ending, but we could still see some heavy showers or thunderstorms for
00:21a time across the southeast, with the remnants of Storm Antony washing back round into East
00:27Anglia to bring some blustery conditions and outbreaks of rain there into the early hours of
00:31Sunday. Elsewhere it'll be a mostly dry night, so we could see some showers for western areas,
00:38winds generally becoming light too, with some clear spells around, so that will help those
00:43temperatures drop a bit tonight, generally remaining in the double figures in towns and
00:48cities, though in rural areas especially across central and northern parts, seeing those
00:53temperatures drop down into the single figures. So a brighter, calmer and drier start to the
00:59second half of the weekend. We'll see the remnants of Storm Antony still just clinging
01:04on to the far east for a time on Sunday, but that will soon clear away, clearing those
01:09blustery conditions with it, so leaving a day of sunshine and showers. These showers
01:15will be heaviest across Scotland and northern England, with a chance of a thunderstorm across
01:20Northern Ireland for Sunday, but for many it'll be a dry day, feeling quite pleasant as well in
01:26those lighter winds and that sunshine, so temperatures faring a little bit better on
01:30Sunday compared to Saturday, with highs of 20 to 21 in the south. Moving into Sunday evening,
01:38and we'll slowly see those showers start to ease, and they'll become increasingly confined to
01:44northern areas. Elsewhere, plenty of clear spells, more in the way of clear spells than what we're
01:50expecting for Saturday night, and once again with those light winds around, that's going to help
01:55those temperatures drop as we go into the start of the new week. Once again, generally seeing
02:01temperatures staying in the double figures for towns and cities, but more widely in rural areas
02:06seeing them drop into the single figures. So it'll make for a cool but bright start to the second week
02:12of August, generally dry as well, though we will see more persistent showers moving into western
02:18Scotland, making their way east, where we'll see the heaviest showers through Monday. Otherwise
02:24there'll be a few light showers around elsewhere, but more in the way of sunshine on Monday than what
02:30we're expecting for Sunday, and again with those light winds, it's going to be feeling pretty
02:34pleasant in the sunshine, so temperatures faring a little better for some on Monday, highs of 23
02:41possible in any more persistent sunshine in the southeast. But let's have a look at what the
02:47weather has in store for Tuesday. Well, things getting a little duller as we go into the second
02:53day of the week, with cloud and outbreaks of rain and drizzle affecting mostly western areas.
02:58Best chance of any sunshine will be in the east, and those temperatures will be a touchdown for
03:03some compared to what we're expecting for Monday at or just below the average for the time of year.
03:09We could start to see things warming up a little bit as we go towards Wednesday.
