00:00Hello, and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04It's a cooler and breezier theme to the weather this weekend, as a cold front swept
00:09across the UK last night.
00:11Behind this, low pressure dominates the bigger picture, bringing unsettled weather across
00:16the UK, but particularly in the west.
00:20Looking at the rest of today, it will be generally quite breezy, mainly for Northern Ireland
00:24and western parts of England, Scotland and Wales, where there is a risk of coastal gales.
00:29Scattered showers will move from west to east today, and these could be heavy at times.
00:34Though, the further east you are today, the drier your weather will be, and it's here
00:38we'll see the best of the sunny spells.
00:41Temperatures today will be cooler than yesterday, with a high of 22 to 23 in the east.
00:48Into this evening and overnight, showers will start to fade, but more persistent rain pushes
00:52in from the west across Northern Ireland, western Scotland and north-west Wales.
00:57Though it will remain windy tonight, which will help keep temperatures up for most, though
01:02in rural areas in the east where we'll see some clearer skies, we could see temperatures
01:06dipping into single figures.
01:09Tomorrow will be a similar day for most, with further showers or longer spells of rain in
01:14the west.
01:16Strong winds will continue, with the threat of coastal gales once again in the west.
01:21In the east, it will be another generally fine and dry day, with sunny spells, and it
01:26is here, once again, we will see the highest temperatures, with maximums around 22 to 23.
