00:00Hello and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04It's been a rather unsettled weekend and it doesn't look set to change, at least for the first part of the new week.
00:10But for tonight, showers will fade and winds will ease as a temporary ridge of high pressure moves across the UK.
00:17Cloud will clear, making for a rather cold and frosty night, with lows of minus one in the north and one to two in the south.
00:25Into Monday morning, although it will be a cold start, it will be bright with plenty of sunshine.
00:31Across Northern Ireland and the far south-west of England, cloud cover will increase during the morning
00:36and this will continue eastwards as a warm front moves in from the west,
00:40bringing outbreaks of rain and drizzle, mainly to western upslopes.
00:44This will also bring some mild air, so temperatures will be generally higher than today.
00:49So after that cold start, there will be a maximum of thirteen in the south-west.
00:54It will be a generally cloudy afternoon tomorrow, though there will be some bright or sunny spells, mainly in the south and east.
01:00Outbreaks of rain and drizzle will continue and into the evening.
01:04These will become heavier across Scotland and Northern Ireland as a cold front moves in.
01:08After that milder day on Monday, colder air will start to move into the north as a cold front sinks southwards.
01:16Though this front will stall across the central part of the UK, setting up a north-south split for Wednesday,
01:22with colder air across the north and milder air in the south.
01:26This cold front will finally clear south-eastwards through Thursday,
01:31making for a colder end to the week for the whole of the UK,
01:34and a generally more settled end with high pressure not too far away.
