00:00Hello and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. It's been quite a cloudy
00:05end to the weekend, but let's take a look at the bigger picture for what is half term
00:10next week for some of you. High pressure isn't going to go too far away, so it'll be mostly
00:14settled, but these weather fronts will just try and make their way in from the west at
00:18times, bringing a bit more of cloud and rain sometimes.
00:21Go back to tonight and it's a mostly cloudy picture once again. There might be some clear
00:26spells across the north and the south and west as well, and this is where we might just
00:30see the odd patch of mist and fog overnight. In the southeast as well, skies may start
00:36to clear as we get towards the early hours of Monday, so you may just see the odd patch
00:41of fog here as well. With all of that cloud around, it's quite a mild night, though we
00:47might see the odd patch of rural frost in some places, particularly across the north
00:53and east in any shelter.
00:55So it's another cloudy start to Monday, with any mist and fog just slowly lifting and breaking
01:01throughout the morning. Though, the cloud will start to break up as we go through Monday,
01:06so by about mid-morning into the early afternoon, there'll be plenty of sunny spells around,
01:11particularly away from eastern areas, where we might just cling on to that cloud for just
01:15a touch longer. And the temperatures will be doing pretty well once again for the time
01:20of year, with highs of 10-12 in the south.
01:24Going into Monday night, and with more in the way of clear skies, there's a greater
01:28risk of frost and fog tomorrow night than compared to tonight, so a chance of seeing
01:33some fog across east Anglia and southeast England in particular. Looking further west
01:39though, and cloud will start to spill in from the southwest into the start of Tuesday, bringing
01:44a chance of some outbreaks of rain and drizzle as well for Northern Ireland and western parts
01:50of Wales. But with that cloud in the west, and a bit more of a brisk breeze as well,
01:54it'll be quite a mild night here, cooler further east with those clearing skies, but
02:00a patchy frost is also possible here too.
02:04So a cool start to Tuesday in the east, but milder in the west, with clouds spilling further
02:10north and eastwards throughout the morning, bringing more outbreaks of rain possibly across
02:15Scotland, as well as northern England and Northern Ireland too. Elsewhere, it'll be
02:20a dry and fine day with plenty of sunshine, and feeling quite pleasant in those light
02:25winds too. Though across western and northern coasts with a bit more of a brisk breeze,
02:30it'll just take the edge off those temperatures there.
02:34Now looking ahead to mid-week, and not a huge amount of change to come in the weather, quite
02:39cloudy with just the odd sunny spell at times, and maybe some outbreaks of light rain and
02:44drizzle, particularly for western upslopes. Though temperatures will still be mild and
02:49just above average for the time of year.
